Montecristo White
Anybody else here like these? Just had my second one tonight. Had a Toro size about 6 months ago, very good. Was browsing a local shop yesterday and decided to pick up 2 more. Only had the Especial #1 (6.6 x 44) in stock. I usually like the larger RG, like the Toro or the Rothschild. Decided to fire it up this evening. Very nice, everything and more I could remember from the last one. Smooth, tasty, mild-med, and very relaxing. Too bad these aren't on Cigarbid that much, I'd love to be able to pick up a couple 5er's on there. Any other fans?

Re: Montecristo White
I really like these ... try to keep some around. Great to give to inexperienced cigar smokers, but tasty for a more experienced smoker as well. :tu

Re: Montecristo White
I never buy these, but now that you mention it, I remember house sitting back in college for a guy that had a huge humi full of NC montes, (it was that White House humidor. you know the one, lol) anyhow I sampled many cigars from the White House collection that week, but I remember the MC white label being quite good. might have to pick one up.

Re: Montecristo White
I did a search and found a review. Seemed several people didn't like it as much from the comments. I really enjoyed it, excellent burn, taste, etc. I can agree that they are high in price, probably more so than they should be. I'm usually a Med-Full (mostly Full) smoker myself, but enjoy the occasional lighter smoke. This one tonight just seemed to hit the spot for me.

Re: Montecristo White
I haven't had one in awhile but from what I remember, they use to be my morning go to smoke. I have one more I think... I want a few more.

Re: Montecristo White
I agree with Huy. They are a great morning smoke. They have a fair amount of complexity and a lot of flavor.
|
Re: Montecristo White
When I first started smoking this was my go to. A very nice mild smoke.
|
Re: Montecristo White
I think these are great smokes as well. Milder in body with a good amount of flavor.

Re: Montecristo White
Think I'll try to pick up a couple more next time I drop by the B&M.

Re: Montecristo White
I find the Padilla Hybrids very similar to the Montecristo Whites in flavor profile, but at a fraction of the cost. Check 'em out.

Re: Montecristo White
This is the only Monte I have smoked....great cigar indeed and it was quite smooth.

Re: Montecristo White
I picked up a couple 5 packs of Montecristo Media Noche, and a 5 pack of the Platinums.
I like the Media Noche, the Platinum is good but I got one hell of a nicotine buzz from it. Smoked it about 4 hours after eating though, may have played a role in that. |
Re: Montecristo White
They look like nice mild cigars.

Re: Montecristo White
love these!

Re: Montecristo White
Oh these are pretty decent smokes. I have a few resting in the humi now. Can't wait to get at them!! :)

Re: Montecristo White
When first starting out with cigars, this is the stick that hooked me.

Re: Montecristo White
Haven't had one yet but I have one in the cooler that coastietech sent me. I may have to spark it up in the morning.

Re: Montecristo White
Great cigar. Best of the Montecristo line IMHO.

Re: Montecristo White
tasty smoke but I prefer the platinum

Re: Montecristo White
Had to do it, grabbed a 5 pack of Monte White Toros this evening. The wife wanted to go to Burlington to check out a couple stores. Gave me a chance to walk around in JR for a bit. $30 for the 5 pk and a torch lighter.

Re: Montecristo White
I just tried 1 of the real small one's and liked the flavor. I'll probably buy 1 of the big ones but they are pricey.
|
Re: Montecristo White
Damn right they're pricey. Only bad thing I can find about them so far. JR had the single Toros for $9.00 a stick! Bought the 5 pack, and got the free torch lighter with it for $30. I really wish they would be listed on Cbid more often. I had some of the smaller ones the other day when I started this thread. I will usually smoke about any size or shape, I generally go for the 50+ RG. Don't mind sticks in the 40's, but much smaller seems like the taste isn't the same. Maybe my smoking method gets them a bit hotter. I usually average a draw every 45-70 seconds. If it's a cigar that cools down a good bit, I'll usually take two light puffs to "stoke" the fire and then take my actual puff.

Re: Montecristo White
Had a Montecristo White tonight among others. Was a very relaxing smoke. Lasted about an hour and three quarters for what I would consider a Churchill size. Burn was very even throughout with little change in flavor profile IMHO. Fairly smooth with no harshness to it. Had hints of cedar and a toasty almond taste towards the middle. I recommend this smoke for those who are fairly new to or are partially drawn to the slope! BEWARE - this smoke will not help you quit anytime soon(not a bad thing in my opinion)!

Re: Montecristo White
I've only smoked a couple, but I thought both of them were pretty boring. Maybe I should light another to see what the fuss is about.
