The heavy music thread.
Alright, this thread is dedicated to all things heavy. This is general as it can get. This thread isn't confined to just rock and roll either. There's lots of heavy music out there that doesn't even use guitar (think jazz, or perhaps even back to the classical period.)
And so, without further ado, here's a little bit of what's been stuck in my head recently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MxSW0zGsbw (Led Zeppelin- the ocean) and then, the same song, covered by bonerama (you've got to check it out) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhwaNGeq22A |
Re: The heavy music thread.
Well, gotta keep things interesting.
I'll go ahead and put up some Primus- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYGmX...eature=channel I may add some more later, but I do think this will be it for now. |

Re: The heavy music thread.
Well, if we're plunging into metal (which I knew would happen), I do believe it's time to throw out the band that defines heavy. You'll be hearing a lot from these guys in this thread as long as I'm around.

Hmm. Time to support some locals, and arguably one of the best hardcore bands out there. You can thank these guys for having a hand in what heavy music sounds like today...

Opeth are one of my favorites:

Re: The heavy music thread.
So I'm being vulnerable here when I post this here.
This is music that I wrote. It's all unfinished. I still have to finish adding vocals to one song, and do some serious polishing on another- and add vocals, but here they are anyway. http://www.myspace.com/gardengnomeop Please only listen to the water hammer, and bittering agent titled songs. The rest were done on a 16 bit program which makes all of them sound incredibly goofy. But if you must listen to the 16 bit songs, listen to green volcanic stuff. It's probably my best track from that particular program Anyhow, that's my take on heavy music. Just me goofing around really. |
