Holiday Support Group

I am sure that many of you, like me, have trouble saving money because it goes to cigars each day, week, or month! I need help to stay strong and save money for presents for my loved ones this holiday season!

I have not made a cigar purchase in three days. I hope I can stay strong for six more weeks!!!

Who will lend their support or stand with me???

I am with you MOBD.

Right after I buy a few more boxes. :r

OK, not really. I'm saving as well. The kids are getting a Wii.

My Partagas 8-9-8's will have to wait until that is bought. :sad

Remember your 12 step program. Keep you credit card 12 steps away so you have at least 3 seconds to talk yourself out of hitting "submit order"!:D

Hide this from the retailers otherwise it would be like a rep from jack daniel's walking into an AA meeting.

I need to do the same as you. But what about when we walk into B&M's? Do trades count? PIF's? With all of these there are cost's too. Ship twenty times and you're looking at an average of $100 or so. Let us ponder these questions and make an attack plan.(Or a defense plan actually.)

That's the good thing about having no money - I don't have to worry about spending it. Poverty is its own reward - hell, it almost HAS to be!

Re: Holiday Support Group

I realize you're right, and stand behind you all the way. I haven't placed an order in 24 hours now. I'll refrain from any more senseless spending on myself. I need to save for a present for the wife. I'll be strong!

Now, if I can just figure out which cigars a non-smoker like herself might like as an introduction to this fine hobby............

I'm there with you, I'm done buying, and for a while. I have ENTIRELY way too many cigars, so many that I'm at the point of worrying that some of my stuff will age too long. Last date I bought a cigar (happened to be a box)

10/3/09 - box of La Herencia Cubana Robusto from CBID for stupid cheap.

Thats it, I'm done, and totally tired of chasing the next great cigar.... for at least a few............. months.

I'm with you.

I promised myself over the summer to cease cigar purchases,
so I can get a box of Hemingway maduros at Xmas. But, alas,
it hasn't worked... Oliva Vs, PAMs, Graycliffs, San Cristobals,
and other deals "too good to pass up", sunk my self discipline.
Now I might not even be able to get my usual Xmas fare from
Fuente.

Maybe my New Year resolution should be to smoke down what
I already have, in 2010. That would save a bundle of cash.

Stay off of the internet, particularly cigar sites. It helps.

I really would like some insight on these questions. It's important, they're the little things.

Just got a box. Darrell, stay strong! You must not waiver!

my usual way to help me not by anything is put everything I want to order in the shopping cart then I ask, "babe, does this look ok to you?" I then usually get the "really?" look or the "go ahead I dare you" response :( :r

Re: Holiday Support Group

I have been pretty good the last year although I can't really say it was self control that kept me in check. It has been more the fact that I have been working too much lately to find time to smoke through what I have currently which leaves little to no room in my cabinet. This past month I did make two box purchases(Boris and Cain Habano) which after a little Tetris I managed to make room. I am at full capacity now but the scary thing is I am re-seasoning another humidor that I pulled out of service last year. Figured it's winter time which is when I try to do most of my buying so I may be off the wagon here soon.:r

Other than a twelve dollar purchase, I have done well since starting this post.

I am really going to need help in the weeks to come as I am trying to pay off a credit card.

I paid off and cancelled three credit cards in the past few months!!!
