Re: Why Coach Fox?
Sadly your options are limited at QB, after this weekend a call to Jeff Garcia might be a good idea.

Re: Why Coach Fox?
Jake is a record setter. He's going for Favre's INT record in 5 games. He's almost there. :tu He really stinks it up. I think espn just said Jay Feely could be making his way down. Can't get any worse.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
I'm no giant fan - more a Giants fan these days really - but don't you think you could wait until week 2 or 3 before you form a lynch mob for a march on Charlotte? Just my :2.

Re: Why Coach Fox?
They just signed A.J Feely so maybe Jake will take a seat after a few weeks. He has been pretty bad since he had Tommy John surgery.

Like when Mr. Blowjangles was a back-up for Rodney Peete. :r CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Carolina Panthers have to come to terms with veteran quarterback A.J. Feeley and have placed backup Josh McCown on injured reserve. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/1...t-McCown-on-IR |

Re: Why Coach Fox?
Haven't they made the playoffs several times? Haven't they made it to the Superbowl once? Haven't you got an NFL team and a great new stadium - two things other cities (such as LA) do not? Heck, do you really expect the Queen City to become Titletown USA? I merely think you should calm down a bit and count your blessings. Again, just my :2 - yet, as I was born and raised right up 16 from Charlotte, I think I may hold an opinion.

Re: Why Coach Fox?
Jake looked better this week even though we still lost.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Did not see the game - network had Jets/Patsies - but from the updates it seemed the D let them down more than anything else.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
According to The New York Times (Sports Monday, pg. D3, Column 1, 'way below fold), the first 5,000 fans in attendance at tonight's Panthers/Cowboys game get a free interception.
Hey, don't yell at me - I just report the news. :r |
Re: Why Coach Fox?
I'm a Panthers fan but that is great. Between Romo and Jake alot of defensive players gonna finally get some recieving practice. :D

Yeah, it's not looking too good so far this year. :td I sure hope they can pull themselves together after the bye week.

Re: Why Coach Fox?
Fox needs to stick w/ the run. We run the ball, we produce. We throw the ball, only God knows what will happen. Throw the screen to Williams or Stewart. That worked last night (way to little to late) but it produced.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Jake hasn't always been a bad quarterback. He is now. But he wasn't a few years ago.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Not looking good today. One interception and one almost picked off so far. When's this boy's contract up?
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Now Kasay is 0-2.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Charlotte Observer reports that Coach Fox is considering benching Jake for Sunday's game against Arizona. Sounds good at first, but then the two options we have to start in his place don't look very appealing. :hm
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
He didn't consider it for long. Announced Jake as the starter.

Re: Why Coach Fox?
We should go to a wildcat. It works with Miami pretty good. Smith could take direct snap and then go from there. Between him, Williams, and Stewart it would work.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Jake looked great today! Wow, I'm impressed!:tu
Maybe he's finally turning it around or is it a one time deal?:hm Warner did a great Jake impression in today's game. Plenty of interceptions!:D |
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Hope he keeps it up, we have a pretty tough schedule from here on.
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
We caught some lucky breaks today. A win is still a win, though!
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
After last night's game, I'm not sure it's all Jakes fault. I think Fox and Delhomme need to go. Why do you let Jake pass when Williams is hot? No one on the Miami team could stop DeAngelo, but NO... Fox let Jake try the passing game. I know you have to throw the ball when you are behind, but damn, why not let the man who is garanteed to get you some serious yardage get the ball? 3rd and 1, why did we go long? Give the ball to Williams! He's averaging 9.4 yards per carry, and yet Jake threw the ball 42 times. Williams had 13 carries while Jake attempted 42 passes. WTF? What coach would let this go on? Jake, you suck, but you are not alone. Coach Fox is just as F___ing bad!:hn
So much for any shot at the playoffs that we may have had this year. Our team has some talent, but not at the QB or the coach positions. Rumor has it that they are interested in hiring Cower to take the team next year. I have mixed feelings about this. Cower only has one championship in his career (correct me if I'm wrong). He's good, but he's been out of the game for three years as well. |

Re: Why Coach Fox?
Play it again Mr. Blowjangles! :r
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Mr. Blowjangles has a broken finger on his throwing hand. *cough* BS *cough*
Also, Jon Beason has been arrested on aggravated assault charges. This also just in, Coach Fox still sux! :r |

Re: Why Coach Fox?
Delhomme is out, Moore is in!
|
Re: Why Coach Fox?
And that was our final win of the season. Not a bad outing for Moore.

Re: Why Coach Fox?
We won?
Wow! Go Moore! |

Re: Why Coach Fox?
WFNZ, the sports radio station in Charlotte posted this on FB:
After two straight convincing wins, Panthers coach John Fox is off the hot seat for now. Tom Sorensen of the Charlotte Observer reports that Fox, G.M. Marty Hurney, and Fox's entire coaching staff will be "offered the opportunity" to return to the Panthers in 2010. Fox will not be offered a contract extension. Fox is reportedly due $6 million in 2010, the final year of his current deal. Sorensen writes that a potential lockout after the 2010 season could be a factor in the decision to keep Fox. The 7-8 Panthers face many big offseason questions, like at quarterback and what do do with Julius Peppers. (The most likely Peppers solution: waving goodbye.) Left unsaid is whether Fox will definitely take the "opportunity" to return as a lame duck coach. With so much money due and no freedom to entertain job offers, we have to assume he will be back. :r I love it! :r |
Re: Why Coach Fox?
Of course he's gonna take it, and with that goes Matt Moore's chances of starting next year.:(

I am ecstatic right now!

Re: Why Coach Fox?
He was a good quarterback in his day but his day ended a couple of years ago. Might still get a job as a veteran backup.
