North To Alaska...With A Few Cigars

Off tomorrow to Alaska for a few days at Denali National Park, then off for a cruise ending in Vancouver BC.

For all of my friends on CA I will be thinking of you as I park my ass on the ship in Churchill's Cigar Lounge. A few off the cigars sailing with me on the not so high seas.

Where are you jumping on the cruise ship? I worked in Skagway for a summer back in 1998. Beautiful country. The cruise should be a blast. Have a safe trip, papajohn.

Also have a 10 stick otter box with a few Oliva V Beli's to share + a Special S & a MBI for me. :tu

We've done the Alaska cruise gig a number of times. Doing Glacier Bay, Skagway, Juneau & Ketchikan. Been there, done that before but the trip was so damn cheap we could not pass it by.

Looking foward to the cigar lounge. We have been on the ship 3 times so I'm hoping for a great smoking crowd. Had one previous sailing where it was packed with fellow BOTL from Canada, England and Australia. Great group of folks and a real education.

What ship are you on? I was on Holland America and they had smoking on the poop deck and the cigars they offered were pretty sad...I didn't take any of my own since we crossed the Canadian border three times. Denali was beautiful-the fall colors are out, but the rain is starting-poured the day we left. There is a bear there with my name on it-we exchanged e-mail addresses and are going to keep it touch(long story) We just got home last night and I am ready to go again!

Nice,,,,I am still looking forward to cruising there myself. Have been to the Carribean and Mexico a number of times and in Europe as well. I hear Alaska is one of the best cruises out there and the prices are amazing. Take lots of stogies with you.

Island Princess. Holland America lost our business the last time we cruised when they had a survey card asking passengers about smoking. The writing was on the wall so to speak when it came to HAL.

Re: North To Alaska...With A Few Cigars

It was on a bear hunting trip this past spring near Juneau that I truly learned to appreciate cigars. I thought, at the time, that it was mostly the scenery, the food, and the elation of getting a bear earlier that day that made it so great. But when I got home I enjoyed them almost as much. But there is something about Alaska, that's for sure.

Just closed down the cigar lounge tonight. Been putting away some nice sticks. Hell of a good Boli tonight + a Padilla Signature 1932 Toro...the old ones.

Pretty decent crowd of BOTL on the ship. :D

glad you're enjoying your R&R.......and you're able to smoke somewhere other than the "poop deck" (sounds like a place to walk a dog)

Were due back Monday.

Another great group tonight. Put away a Avo Signature + a Winston Churchill. Thinking after our port call tomorrow/today it will be a evening of Habano's.

Cold and wet today in Skagway...warm and dry in Churchill's this evening. Enjoyed a very nice Padron 40th Anni that Frank "jechelman" had gifted me some time back. Finished off the evening with a Graycliff Double Expresso. Does not get much better. :tu
