CAO Cubist is pretty popular, I have one works good also not too expensive. 55 gallon drum works better though and is sturdy and ;s

Chris.....

From hearing about many of the Stinkys stirrups falling off after being knocked around, I don't know that your statement would be entirely correct. I imagine some of the guys who have had to weld/epoxy/solder theirs together might chime in here.

Chris.....

Love mine! Some people have a little trouble with the stirrups popping off... but mine is just fine after 18 months or so on the back porch. :tu

I was looking at a Stinky in the local B&M and really liked it. Perhaps this is a sign.

The stinky is a great ashtray and I totally see where Pete is coming from about the stirrups. In Stinky's defense though, 9/10 people seem to store their ashtray on a table and the stirrup is just a small piece of metal. Any significant fall will cause one to bust off. It's a pain in the ass, but it's not such a pain that I would say it's not a good choice. It's good sized, well made, cleans easy. I love my stinkies (herf and personal).

I have a Stinky and one of my stirrups have fallen off. It didn't drop or anything drastic. I picked it up gripping it between my thumb and forefinger and "pop". With that being said, I do still like the ashtray. Just need to get around to making the repair.

I got my cubist for around $50 I do believe. I didn't find that to fit the "sturdy" category. All the letters popped off. Very annoying.

I bought mine a a local B&M a couple of years ago for $45 on sale but here is one for $49.95, never bought from this supplier so might want to check out first.

Another vote for the Stinky. Indeed, it may not be as sturdy as the 55 gallon drum, but it looks a lot better! If you want tank-like, use the drum, otherwise Stinky is way to go!

Im all about the stinky ashtray. I have had mine for at least 3 years I think... maybe 2.5.. Works flawlessly.

I use a coffee can. I've dented the rim so my sticks sit perfectly.

Another vote for Stinky!! As far as the stirrups falling off, I've never had a problem and I've had mine for almost two years. I also read, Stinky addressed the stirrup problem. So, should be a safe bet. :tu

Casa Fuente has some beautiful and reasonably priced ash trays usually around 50 bucks for their large one

This is the first time I've heard of problems with the Stinky. I can see where if it takes some hard knocks then a stirrup might get bent or broken, but mine is OK after 18 months. But, I can't say it has been subjected to hard use.

I've had my Stinky for over two years now with no problems and it's been dropped several times.

CAO Cubist is a pain to clean and the letters do pop off.

Didn't even think to mention the pain about cleaning. Very much agree though.

OK, as an Officer and a Gentleman - you require both sturdy and something the is fitting to your status. I love my black ashtray:

First time for me too hearing about issues with stirrups falling off. I've had my stinky with the stand for 3+ years and it's been bounced around with no problems. I Love it and will use nothing other than a stinky.

Vote for stinky. I have have had 2 now for quite a while. Nothing wrong with either. I even pick it up by the stirrup and take it to the weekly herf at a local bar. I think the GB is still going on. Just click the link and get one for relatively cheap.

That's the game plan. Gonna pull the trigger on that one I do believe.

I had the same concerns with the Stinky . I bought one and now recommend it . However , they are not near as heavy as they appear .
