Anyone eagerly awaiting this? I know I am :D

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
*raises hand*...I love the concept of the movie..:gn

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Hell yeah! It looks great! :banger

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I'm on the fence with Quentin. I'll wait for it to come to Netflix. Reservoir Dogs is awesome, Pulp Fiction took about 5 times watching it to where I don't hate it, and Kill Bill makes me feel like every second I spend watching it is just another piece of my life I can never get back.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I'm very much looking forward to it.
In fact, my boss has offered up free movie tickets in a contest at work. If I get them, this is the movie I'm spending them on. |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Can't Wait :tu
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Yup, it looks great.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Quinten has never let me down (on something he actually writes/directs, not counting all the brought to you by... crap) so i'll be there opening night with high hopes.

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Cannot wait to see this movie!! Great trailers online.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I want to see it. I loved Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. I hated Kill Bill 1 and 2. I will wait for Darrell's review of it first :tf

Saw it about 5 months ago. Typical QT film. Not bad.

Umm. How?

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I must say it looks good. Saw a little bit about it on some E! show or something and everyone in the movie said it turned out great and Pitt did a great job :tu

I'm eagerly anticipating, despite my loud *ho-hum* at the trailers.

Although I did enjoy parts of Kill Bill, and did get Pulp Fiction the first time (hey, I'm both smart and sick :D) I know your point. Plus, some of the other films he's been involved with, like that Samurai Cowboy Whatever-The-Fark, were just Gawd-awful excuses for blood and violence. I fear he's gone off the deep end, and thus my hopes for this new movie are tempered. |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Look forward to it, but I'm not a big fan of pure bloodlust, like some of QTs films.

:hm, didn't know Darrell had a movie review blog. I'll have to check it out. He usually has good taste in movies (from what I've seen here). Rumor has it that Adam Sandler was originally cast for the lead role in this film. Don't see him fitting in from the previews. I like a lot of Sandler films, but I think the choice to not cast him will probably help this one. |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I do enjoy most QT films...even the ones that are not my favorite have some aspects that I enjoy. I look forward to this one :tu
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I can't wait :tu
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
This looks like a great movie along the lines of The Dirty Dozen but with more blood and guts.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
QT films are kinda hit or miss with me. I saw the trailers a couple of times today and I'm looking forward to it. :tu
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Love QT, even Kill Bill I and II. This is the first move in a long time that has me excited enough to see it in the theater.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Can't freakin' wait!
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I'll be checking it out when I get a chance.

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I heard it was a talk-fest, and that the trailors are misleading (making it seem more action packed than it is)
I wanted to see it, but I'm gonna hold off |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
i am. has to be better then what I watch last night, bruno, what a pice of crap.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I am picturing the Dirty Dozen crossed with Hogans Heroes and Pulp fiction... and I kind of like where that takes my brain. I will see it.

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Yep, definitely looking forward to it. I've enjoyed Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, True Romance and the rest and hope this one will be on par with PF.
Oh, and I'm REALLY hoping there's another Esmerelda-type character. :dr :D |

Something I never noticed watching the trailers unil Letterman mentioned it: the title of the film is actually spelled Inglourious Basterds. |

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
“You probably heard we ain’t in the prisoner-takin’ business; we in the killin’ Nazi business. And cousin, business is a-boomin’.” ~ Lt. Aldo Raine
That line is one of the many great one liners from Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine, the Commanding Officer of the “Basterds” a group of soldiers with one mission, deploy dressed as civilians and kill Nazi’s. Brad Pitt was AMAZING as Lt. Raine – Quentin Tarantino said when he wrote the part he usually has 2 or 3 people in mind for the part, but he only wanted Brad Pitt to play Aldo. Pitt had me laughing, wanting to cheer, and rooting for his character the whole movie, he really stole the show. Eli Roth of HOSTEL fame played Sgt. Donnie Donowitz aka The Jew Bear, a Jewish American Soldier notorious for his brutal method of killing Nazi’s. Did I mention that one requirement for being a “Basterd” is providing Aldo with 100 Nazi scalps? Awesome! Tarantino really outdid himself with Basterds. The movie is funny, action packed, dramatic, and fast paced. I did not get bored at all during the movie and found the story to be interesting and not just another “Kill Nazi’s and Hitler” type cookie cutter war movie. The score in the movie was awesome, their were scenes where the score really added to the drama of it and sometimes the humor. Let’s not forget about the bad ass fight scenes, scalping scenes, and everyone loves Tarantino for his graphic kill scenes. I give this movie 9/10 stars, the only reason I did not give it 10 is because their was once scene where they were eating strudel that I found totally unnecessary and felt it did not have any place in the movie. Oh well, go out and see this movie RIGHT ****ING NOW, because it was awesome. |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Thanks for the review! Can't wait to see it.

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. I was with someone who doesn't care for blood and guts, but Tarantino made those scenes just comical enough that even she thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
|
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I saw it last night as well and I was completely impressed by how much was was not in the trailers, it was so much more than just a blood and guts movie, which is what it was kinda portrayed as.

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Add another thumbs up here. I could quibble with several things, but on the whole this was a good time. The fellow that played the "Jew Hunter" really was the star of the flic, and he's quite the linguist!

"It's a BINGO"
was a great movie, enthralling story line and good laughs throughout. Some very artistic shots and overlaping plot. Defiantly worth seeing in theaters. |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
Thanks for the recommendations, guys. I'm still anxiously awaiting Darrell's review.

Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
I thought it was just ok, the trailers are misleading, the wife hated it.
It was a good way to get out of the heat today. |
Re: Inglorious Ba**ards
2 thumbs way up from both me and the misses.
Needed more gore though. :D |
