Ramblings of a sick man
 

In this case a chest cold vs the normal twisted sense of humor. :tu

Chest cold for the past week. Finally went to the doctor yesterday and got a Z pack and some codeine based cough syrup. Have not been sleeping well, coughing all night.

Took a swig of the cough syrup around 8 last night. Watching TV and not coughing. Got a little tickle around 10. Took another swig. Maybe another around 12 and possibly at 2.

Woke up this morning and as per the usual these past days hacked up some goo. It was black. Freaked me out. Hacked again and even blacker. Must be dying. Visions of really bad things swam before my eyes. Looked over on the end table for the phone to call the doc..... and saw the Popsicle sticks (apparently 2 grapes last night). Took a few seconds to process but...

Checked the cough syrup bottle which I got yesterday... about 1/2 full. Man these codeine based cough syrups pack a wallop. :D

I'm feeling better. Posted it as a funny.... drugs and old guys dont mix well. Still a little zoned. Read the directions this morning - one tablespoon every 8 hours. I took like 20. Felt great at the time (I think). :banger

I laughed Dave, do feel better though. I remember being perscribed vicodin for something, wanting to step down to a lighter med faster I was taking a vicodin in the morning and a few hours later a advil. I was really confused becasue I was extremely screwed up by noon and nearly non-functional, apparently 1+1=3 when you mix those two drugs :(

You gotta be careful with that cough syrup! Now you can throw some jolly ranchers in there and you will want to drink the whole bottle at once :r

Reminds of of a time I took kids Benadryl cuz we were out of the adult version. Read the box and figured based on my weight I would need about thirty. Don't even remember making it to the couch. I think I slept for three days.

Dave, take it easy on the cough syrup. I'd hate to see you become the Michael Jackson of the Cigar Asylum.
Ahh, just kidding. Have some chicken soup and get well soon.
If you keep coughing up the yucky stuff call the Doc to make sure that's normal. Play it safe and get some rest.
