Disc Golf
Who does it???
Went and played with my brother this past weekend and I had totally forgotten how much fun it was. We did 27 holes and smoked a nice Opus X each while doing it. |
Re: Disc Golf
no one plays. oi' ve. :)
|
Re: Disc Golf
Played once or twice.. Probably would play more if I had my own discs lol
|
Re: Disc Golf
Me and my buddies have been playing a good bit as of lately, Sedgely wood in lovely Fairmount Park.

Re: Disc Golf
I play disc golf. Haven't played since last year, but get out every so often. My home course is Prompton Dam, but I've played Sedgely Woods as well. Great course.
I usually drive with a Valkyrie, but have a ton of discs. Too many to list. |
Re: Disc Golf
I've played before. It's ok. I wish I was better at it. I prefer regular golf...
|
Re: Disc Golf
I play. Just played a round this morning and smoked a Dip #5. The Charlotte area has a ton of courses, and another half dozen planned to be completed in the next few years.
|
Re: Disc Golf
Nope never played. But I would try anything once.
Well almost anything :D Chris..... |
Re: Disc Golf
I play occasionally, I played a lot in college and still my "set" of discs.

Re: Disc Golf
Played 36 holes today. I also picked up a Champion Firebird distance driver and I'm really digging it for overhand shots. I threw my best round today throwing the firebird overhand for pretty much everything but putts. I wound up shooting a 58, 7 under par on my home course.

Re: Disc Golf
Played a ton way back in college, but it wasn't regulation: just my three buddies, all of us with 185g Ultimate discs, making our way around campus choosing targets. It was a blast. I play on regulation courses about once a year with my son when we vacation in Myrtle Beach. I can't get accustomed to throwing golf discs, though--they just don't fly like regular Frisbees.

Re: Disc Golf
We have a really nice course at my work. I enjoyed playing however the large majority of the people who play at this course smoke the MJ and are a constant thorn in my side chasing them out after hours and making them smash their pieces.

Re: Disc Golf
Anyone else playing? Just started to get into it seriously, it is really a fun way to pass the time outside!

Re: Disc Golf
I did it for the first time this May and it was fun. I can't see myself getting too involved because there aren't many courses close by.
|
Re: Disc Golf
i haven't gone at all this season. to damn busy. maybe over the long weekend.
|
Re: Disc Golf
I plan on playing this weekend, the weather should be nice and I am still working on learning how to throw the long drive...

Re: Disc Golf
Haven't played much the last few months, been way too hot. Now that it's cooling off and the kids are back in school, I'm looking forward to getting back out there.
|
Re: Disc Golf
Just played Sedgly Woods in Fairmount Park today- cool course! All the holes are short, but require you to make a good shot so it's a bit challenging. Looking forward to playing there alot this year :)

Re: Disc Golf
this is the season for disc golf, IMO. I think I may have to play a round or 3 this weekend.

Re: Disc Golf
I started last Fall * I know what a prime time to start* And continued this spring and will do it for as long as possible, I really enjoy it, and I guess I am pretty good with my limited experience. I'll post some pic's of my discs shortly!!
- I am a very critical player, I think to much and drill my self for every slip. I have found my sidearm can get me there, while my back hand.. is well.. sucks horse c*cks! Austin, MN -my home town, has one of the best courses in Minnesota, Todd Park. If anyone is in the area, or hell if anyone wants to play anywhere in MN let me know, I am down!!!!! practice practice practice says the squirrel |
Re: Disc Golf
I love to play and used to play a lot in college, but havent had time to play in at least a year.
|
Re: Disc Golf
I'd say YEAH, I play, but who cares. I am where I am and there is NO ONE around me,
at least that's what it looks like herf-wise, lol. I play at a few courses around here in Shelby Forest, nice courses, and I am absolutely aces skill-wise, but that's cause I always threw normal for accuracy and side-arm for distance. So I have all the moves, lol. I need to play before it gets hot. No need to say what discs I own since I own no discs, my playing partner has a few mixed discs. |
Re: Disc Golf
one of the first things i am gong to do when i get back from this frickin country is go play a round.
|
Re: Disc Golf
goin out today actually =]

Re: Disc Golf

Re: Disc Golf
I play nearly every day. I used to play ball golf until I hurt my back in an auto accident, and now it hurts it too bad. Disc golf is a great "low-impact" sport for me that allows many of the same benefits as regular golf.
In fact, I have a tournament coming up in 6 hours. :banger |

I am still tossing the Discraft ESP- Venoms around, as well as a Surge/flash etc * I need a Innova Destroyer- I threw a buddies and it was glorious! |
Re: Disc Golf
I have been out a few times in the last few weeks. I need to deepen my disc collection because I have lost my putters and midranges from bad shots and lack of skills.
Putting with drivers is not recommended. I have a local-ish guy that sells lots of used discs for 5 bucks, time to give him a visit or hit the 'bay. |

Basically everything I do consists of a side-arm drive- and putting. If I am out of putting range I am hurting real bad :r |
Re: Disc Golf
To any West Oregon golfers, I am organizing a disc golf league at Horning's Hideout that will begin on April 20th. More details to come.
|
Re: Disc Golf
I know this is a bit old, but man do I love disc golf. Started this summer and played about twice a week for the rest of the season. Really wish there was a course close here in Chicago like there is back home in Michigan.
|
Re: Disc Golf
Looks like Disc Golf posting is far and few between, so to speak. Thought I'd shake the bushes a bit. I'm in foothills western NC and play once or twice a week and have been for about ten years. Anyone else?
|
Re: Disc Golf
I play occasionly, good times but I lose a lot of discs.
|
Re: Disc Golf
If your not losing a disc here and there, you just aren't trying hard enough.:banger
|
Re: Disc Golf
I'm lucky, I've got two nines about a block away, two totally separate styles of courses. pretty fun but gets busy sometimes.
