Are you a spitter?
Personally, I spit almost all of the time when I smoke.

Re: Are you a spitter?
Sometimes. Just whenever I feel like it

Re: Are you a spitter?
Nope man, never spit, unless the cap comes unglued
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
I tend to spit a lot when smoking on the porch outside. In a lounge I usually have a drink and cannot and will not spit.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
I don't spit and think it is a bad, nasty thing to do.. I don't see why it is necessary while you smoke or at anytime really..

Re: Are you a spitter?
Other:
Only with acrid dog rockets. |

Re: Are you a spitter?
Sometimes when I'm doing something with a cigar hanging out of my mouth and I start to drool... Sounds gross but it happens and most of the time it's followed by a little spit to the ground.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Never. It's kinda like cussing for me, I don't feel the need to do it.

When I first started I spit a lot. Never spit anymore.

Re: Are you a spitter?
I do occasionally if the butt of the cigar gets hot.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
I spit A LOT after I smoked a Gorilla Finger. Still couldn't get that taste out of my mouth.
I do spit occasionally, when I'm outside and don't have a beverage. And I believe the aforementioned drooling while working if fairly common. Happens to me too. |
Re: Are you a spitter?
Only when the need arises, but it's into a cup/can.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Only when I dont have a drink and when it is appropriate (eg, not infront of the boss)
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Other, if it is a cigar I am enjoying then never. Some cigars make me spit...
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
I wonder if those who spit also hold the cigar in their mouths a lot between puffs, so that they generate a lot of nicotine in their saliva? I tend to take my puff and take it out of my mouth. I'd say the end of my cigar only gets moist from saliva, not wet. I imagine if I sucked on it more I would have more of an urge to spit. As it is, I almost never spit.

I think if you pair a beverage with a cigar it eliminates need for spitting.. |

I only spit if I'm sitting in my backyard!
Drinking something helps a lot!!!! |

Occasionally not sure what it is. But sometimes I just gotta.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Sometimes when doing yardwork and I drool toooo much, or when sitting by the flowers. Brain thinks water is good for them. Never when smoking an away smoke. I try to refrain from showing my redneck side.
Smoke on:banger:ss |
Re: Are you a spitter?
Never.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Smoking tobacco does stimulate saliva.
So yes, usually less when I'm drinking something. |
Re: Are you a spitter?
I have overzealous salivary glands, and this spitting is an unfortunate necessity.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Nope. Never.

Re: Are you a spitter?
I do spit when I am sitting on the back porch alone, but when I am herfing I never do. I almost always have something to drink in both situations, so I have no idea why.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
No, I swallow. :banger
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
When I first started years ago, yes I spit some here and there, not because I felt the need to, but because the extra nicotine bothered me if I swallowed.
After about a year of smoking, it stopped bothering me and I don't spit anymore unless I end up with chunks of foreign substances (hair, twine, rocks, you know the horror stories...) coming out of my cigar. |
Re: Are you a spitter?
yeah, it's a last fourth of a cigar thing, usually a char/tar/resin buildup in the stick causes me to salivate badly at the end, if i swallow it i usually get heartburn, i just have to remember to spit in appropriate places, i.e. not on the patio, or i will no longer be a married man.......only kidding honey...kinda

Re: Are you a spitter?
Only if there is still some lose tobacco after cutting.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Voted OTHER
Saliva glands kick into overdrive with most NC's. Hardly if ever happens with CC's. |
Re: Are you a spitter?
Never. I did years ago, but figured out I was just smoking too fast. Once I made the effort to slow down, the feeling that I needed to spit disappeared.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
I guess I don't do it always. When I am herfing indoors, I keep a water and a beer around, and I will drink whichever one mitigates the nicotine flavor of my saliva.
When I was spitting all over my yard last night, I managed to accidentally inhale while trying to smoke something with a bad draw. God dangit my chest hurts today. |

Re: Are you a spitter?
Sadly, yes. Unless I am at a herf, then I make sure I always have something to drink.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Other... Generally only if I'm smoking outdoor. If I'm in a cigar shop or somewhere else I can smoke indoor, I don't feel the need to.
|
Re: Are you a spitter?
Very rarely...usually when a piece of tobacco finds it's way into my mouth. I always have a glass of water with my cigars.

Re: Are you a spitter?
I do not spit. Like some others here, I think it is a foul and disgusting habit, and not the necessity some of you seem to believe.
Yeah, I know it's a shock, but I do have a little couth - you should try it some time. :ss |
Re: Are you a spitter?
Oh god you should see the porch....
I don't like the feeling of the nicotine in my stomach, and spitting helps me fight that. |
Re: Are you a spitter?
I don't deep throat the cigar so my slober factor is pretty low, that being said I don't spit... Question for the spitters, what do you do when smoking inside?

Usually I have a drink. I smoke way too many cigars to actually like drinking my own saliva. And I do not suck on the cigar like some folks. Quote:
