Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I'm always a little leery of the CI hype - has anyone tried one for these? At around $40 for 21 the price is right.

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
Havent tried them no.. but i have a 5pack from cbid on the way so ill let you know.. the thing that appealed to me is that they come from the same factory as cubao and 601 :)

Let us know! :tu

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
These are a good buy and a tasty smoke. They are from Eddie Ortega the maker of the 601 line. Nice med/full smoke with a Connie wrapper. :tu

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
Yes, I have had them. A little bitter on the light, not too bad. The 601 black label is much, much better.
The Kioki troop support connecticutt is better to me than the EO601. You might want to compare a fiver of both before you buy a bundle of either. |
Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I think they're pretty good, especially the Maduro.

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I think some are getting the 601's confused with the EO 21's lol....

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I had a bundle of the robustos that were a good smoke for a decent price. My first was given to me at an event at my B&M by the rep - he said that they would be coming out soon (last year). That one was a Toro size and it was also a very nice cigar for that price point. I think they go for about $40/bundle or so in the B&M's around here. :ss

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
Cuabo and 601 are DPG blended smokes. I am not sure these are DPG smokes...

EO Brands lists Cubaos and 601s as Pepins but not the #21's. :hm

They are OK, a 5Vegas Gold and Kioki is just as good or better. |
Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I got my 5 pack in the mail yesterday.. going to let them rest a bit then give a report back.. the size is the double corona, and they definatly DONT look like something peppin had a hand in...

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I tried a few. They're kind of bland.

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
Thats a nice selection of smokes you have to the right of the EO's lol
|
Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
i think rocky patel or nestor makes them.

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
OK i havent tried one out of the 5pack i got yet... but im wondering if anyone has heard anyhting more on these... I know theyre advertised as coming from the E&O factory in miami... which is where the 601's and cubao's are blended by pepin.. however no description mentions pepin having anything to do with them.. BUT the thing that struck me as odd... if you go to the CI site, and in the search function you type in don pepin... ALL of his cigars come up AND these come up as well... any thoughts on who may blend this as of yet?
i must say, the wrapper and size doesnt look like his style.. |
Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
im pretty sure rocky makes them. at least he used too.

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
wait are you refering to the older REO? yes he did used to blend that for them... but totally difft stick... acyually the second smoke i ever had :)
|
Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
sorry about that, don pepin garcia makes these. took some digging. and yes EO has been affiliated with rocky patel before. rocky made REO (rocky, eddie, ortega) and VIBE cigars for them but were discontinued due to consistency problems. then they turned to DPG and history was made. I know that one of those guys checks this board once in a while, so you might get an answer from him directly.

Re: Anyone try the EO no. 21?
I don't think DPG makes these for Eddie and Eric. They don't have a triple cap...
