Can someone fill me in on the Cigar Drama?
 

So I was a member of Club Stogie several years ago (some of you may remember me, some may not).

Now that I have much more time on my hands, I decided to pick up the habit again :). I paid a visit to clubstogie.com and was redirected to Puff Cigar. I posted a thread asking what the heck was going on, and a few members directed me to this website. But their links were blocked in some of the PMs. What's the deal?

Is there a cigar civil war brewing?

Long story short, a guy named Jon Caputo bought Club Stogie and several other sites, and merged them as Puff.com. Several of the people who are now here did not like the way things were over there, nor did Caputo do himself any favors by responding to the tiniest criticisms in a very immature manner. The "Team of 11" created this place and I, along with many others, am very grateful.

I have got to admit, I do like this place a lot better than Puff from just a superficial look. Not as many advertisements, or gimmicks. Seems more "homely"

Are there any old BOTLs from the CS days that post on here?

Fromt what I've been told, some of the old mods from CS were unhappy with the new management and left to create CA. Most, if not all of the great people from CS are now on CA. Welcome to your new home :tu

Does CA have the same volume of cigars going back and forth among members? My favorite part of CS was all the bombs, PIF, and things like that.

Indeed, about 95% of CS members are here, and yes, there are cigars flying all over the place!

It was all my fault. I told Da Klugs I liked him and it made him uncomfortable enough to abandon ship. Then I found him again. The restraining order is kind of an inside joke between us.

I had the same experience a while back. went to CS after a year off. It seemed really dead and I didn't see any familiar names. I made a post inquiring about what happened and was directed here.

I just went back to take a look for curiosity's sake and came across this hilarious post:

"Picked these[Cohibas] up last weekend. I'm quite excited because of all the CC's I have, these are the only ones I'm absolutely certain about being real."

Everyone has pretty well summed it up. JC flushed CS down the toilet and thank god the team of 11 created a new home to carry on the brotherhood we have come enjoy so much.

If they decided to sell this site you would see. All the Drama that was on CS left and came here.

It's the same people +/- a few.

Not sure I understand what you're saying GrtndpwrflOz. Are you saying that CigarAsylum has a lot of drama? Are you saying that we (as the Team of 11) might sell CA?

Not alot of Drama...about the same as CS. I have only been around for a little over 2 years now so I haven't seen everything.

What I meant by the selling CA comment was...The only time I believe I saw drama was when people started buggin' about CS being sold. I wouldn't think that CA would be sold and in no way am I trying to start Drama (haha).

Was there more drama than that at CS as opposed to CA? I think not. As we all know, this is my opinion. More Passionate discussions.....perhaps.

Its all good bro. Just checking to make sure we're not giving out the impression that we might sell the place or anything like that. That's the absolute LAST thing I ever expect to happen here.

I get your viewpoint man. Its all good, everyone has their own speed and style and I'm glad that so many of our BOTL's and SOTL's decided to hang their hats here.

Ah yeah, I remember Dave. At one point he was signed on over here too...before he became a mod over at Puff. Haven't seen him around much since then.

I would wholeheartedly disagree that there is as much drama at the Asylum as there was at Club Stogie, but that is my point of view.
