Tatuaje Black

Date: 10/18/08

Cigar: Tatuaje Black Label (5 3/4 x 46)

Cost: $15

Drink: Mountain Dew

Appearance: 1 banded cigar that says "Tatuaje" on the band with a black background.

http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...k/100_1587.jpg

Pre-light: Didn't really have any scent to it.

Taste of the cigar: It was hard for me to describe the taste. I would say semi sweet tobacco with a little bit of spice.

Construction: Held an long ash. The draw was perfect. The cigar had a razor sharp burn and didn't require any touchups.

Strength: This was a medium-full flavored cigar.

Summary: This cigar was delicious. I wish Pete Johnson would make more of these. I would definitely buy this again. I give this a 9/10.

Everything I read about this cigar is positive so guess it is the next cigar to have in my humidor. I need to quit reading these kinds of posts as when I read them I have to try them.

Good luck with that.
Not many places have any left at all.

Smoked another one today. They seem to only get better.

Dunng mentioned buying a bundle of these. Are they selling these in bundles now?

Thanks
Ken

These were sold in 19 stick bundles wrapped in foil in jars when they were released.

This is one of my MUST TRY cigars of 09!

Can't wait until I find one, going to Vegas in late March and plan on looking around for one!
If they were more widely available would that diminish the high ratings of this cigar? Scarcity can sometimes make something better than it normally would be...

I dont think so.

Had my first one last week... fantastic! I wish I had known NOT to snork this cigar, I thought my sinuses were going to explode.

I have a couple of the jars and I've read that Pete may do a special refill the jar promo. I have also heard rumors that they may release bundles of Blacks without the jar and was hoping that this was happening when I read Dunng's post.

I have one full jar that I'm trying to hold off on opening until they are 5 years old. I only have a few left from the first jar and I'm hoping Pete will release some more before they are gone.

Take care
Ken

the bundles have already been released and are slowly hitting a few of the larger dealers.

i broke into the bundle in the middle so ignore the packaging. they come in bundles of 25 in cellophane.

i heard that it's not the blacks in the tubes but a regular production in the tube.

Looks like I need to start hitting the B&M.

What are they charging for a bundle of 25?

Thank you very much for the information.

Pete was at Serious Cigars last night. this what he told a friend of mine that was there. Pete hopes to have this released by the next IPCPR! so, yeah, my information is second-hand....

What size are the cigars that come in the bundles?

It is hard to see through the packaging, but it looks like they no longer have the tit on the cap or the shag foot.

Thanks again.

cigar price should be 13$ per the MSRP. you can find them under that. i scored a bundle for 200$ plus shipping last month. just shows you how much markup there can be.

So you would go along with the scarcity theory that since they are hard to get is why they taste better?

I've never had one but I'll remedy that in 09 I'm sure! LOL!

a vendor on one of the forums. keep in mind once a vendor gets a bundle it could be a long while if ever before they get anymore.
