ok... lets see where you make your morning coffee. Be it a moka, home machine, or commercial machine...lets see 'em.

This is my Carimali. We own three Italian Pastry Shops/ Caffes. We also have a 4 group Astoria, and a 2 group Nuova Simonelli Aurelia.

I like the Aurelia the best for making the coffee, but the Carimali is the sexiest!

We have been serving espresso and espresso drinks since 1955. I also have 2 antique machines that we no longer use, but just put out for display.

Well, thats what I do for a living... so even though its what I make myself coffee on every morning, I have a few Bialetti moka pots for espresso and a Cuisinart grind and brew at home... although they are rarely used.

In Life as in Coffee variety is the spice of life

http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/4...e080az9.th.jpghttp://img125.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif

Some french press, some Moka and variations and a super-auto as todate I have not taking the plung to artist but rather I just love a solid (not perfect) shot of espresso first thing in the morning and with this I can do it half awake with no mess.

Ditto that. I loves me coffee and get it when I travel all over but maybe it's time to invest in some of the grand perulators.

Oscar and Mazzer Mini.

Using the naked portafilter right now. I drink, Americanos, and heat the water with the steam wand. This works quite well. The machine has ridiculous steam...

Ive never had vacuum brewed coffee before. At the last coffee trade show I was at in DC they had a few demos (large scale 5 or 7 pots at a time) but the crowd was too thick.

hand grinder huh? talk about old school... but I guess it becomes somewhat of a ritual... like your cigar pre-light routine.

That's pretty much the setup I would love to have. Hard to improve on that pair.

OK Introducing me to vacuum brewing and the option of old school hand grinding.
BUT...Can a hand grinder be set for consistent, reproducible grinds?
It's just a nut changing the opening size of the grind...Hard to have a setting switch for various grinds.

hmmmmmm
Tom

Here's my coffee making collection. Everything is at least 10 years old. The regular size French Press was a gift from France in the 70's. The stove top units were bought in Montreal.

It's not the acquisition cost, it's the disposal fee when you're done where it really gets expensive.

:D...That's what the pre-nuptial insurance is all about when purchasing this brand of coffeemaker. If its offered, get it!
