The onyl problem I have is that it isn't big enough... :r But that's the same problem everyone else has with theirs regardless of size.. :D For humidity I use a hydra (the small one works great, but I bet the bigger one would be ideal) and just shy of 2 lbs of beads. It keeps it pretty much rock solid at around 64-66% depending on how much I opened it that day. Hope that helps. Lemme know if you had any more questions! -Z |
Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
You could send it to me and I will test it for awhile and then let you know.

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
I have the Verona which is similar. It just has a piered top. They hold humidity well, and are very well priced. The drawers are very convenient.
If you're patient, you can find one on CBID and save some money. I believe they are all drop shipped from the vendor. |
Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet

I also have the Verona and love it. I use the large hydra and 2lbs of beads. Like others have said, they keep humidity pretty well and with the larger hydra it recover within a few minutes after opening the door. I used the same company you are looking at and they did an awesome job getting it to Ohio on time and in one piece.
I'd happily buy another down the road. |
Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
Its the most popular cabinet we carry. They are making it in black oak now too which is a first for 2009. Should be available any day.

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
I really need to pull the trigger on one of these... Everytime I almost have myself talked into buying one a little voice tells me to save the money for cigars and buy another $29 cooler.

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
latest from the distributor is that these units in black oak should be in stock in mid may. I'm sure they will go very fast so anyone interested in getting your hands on one should preorder.

Just picked one of these up on the devil site and was wondering how and how long did it take for you to season this or get it to 65% RH before adding your boxes.

Yes, and if I can ever get off my lazy butt I'll be using it to store singles in the walk-in.

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
Even though I build humidors, I may buy one because I nerver have time to build for me.:r

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
Received my Tower on Friday and was very please at what I got for the price.(DevilSite)
Currently in the process of bringing it up to 65% humidity and keeping it there before I start putting my boxes in it. I currently do not have any temperature issues because where I keep it on some basement stairs stays around 65 degrees year round, but has anyone tried adding a small thermoelectric unit to their Tower Cabinet. Seams like it would be pretty easy and with a Hydra and beads it seams like a fairly economical way to have a temp/humidity reliable cabinet. Certainly not the beauty or quality of the custom made humis but I couldn't justify the price to the wife at this point.:tu |

I so wish it were practical to have one of those in Florida.

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
I have heard of someone modding these cabinets with a TEC unit. No matter which type of TEC you get its not an easy mod. You need to worry about heat disappation, exhausting the heated air(unless you mount it on the outside which is the most common), condensation, and even then prepare to have your humidor cost as much as a small refrigerator. But it can definitely be done.

Re: 3000 Ct. Cigar Tower - Cabinet
My wife would so kill me. But it might be easier than hiding all the small humidors ;)
