Ok gang, I started a group on yahoo and thought we could do a little wager for the tourney.

5 stick buy in. Everyone sends sticks to winner at the conclusion of the tourney.

Just go to Yahoo and sign up for Tourney Pick 'em 09.

That was my thought exactly. Missed last year with no internet at tourney time, so i have to make up for it this year.

Thought I would clarify rules a bit.

At end of tourney, winner will PM addy to all participants. Participants will have one week to mail out winnings. Winner agrees to post list of participants and to update list when winnings arrive.

Communication is the key fellas. If you're gonna be late, send a note.

If you sign up and need to bail out, I will allow this until the Wednesday before the start of the tourney. After that, if you're in, you're in.

If you don;t know how it works there on Yahoo, they will post up brackets usually no later than 3/16 (the day after selelction Sunday). You go in and you will see each regions brackets. Pick your winners all the way through to the final four. Then you go to the final four bracket and pick it out and you're done.

You get one crack at picking the winners, once the tourney has started...:fu.

As I won't have a dog in this race (see Indiana's worst season in school history), good luck to all.:mad:

Can't check it here at work..(they'll let me surf this board, but I cant check fantasy leagues:D.) We should have 5 now. Let's see how it progresses and we can work out a system for that.

Once we got locked in, I'll figure out a payout. Since we have a pretty good sized group, I think we can afford to pay put the first three places.
Post up any ideas you have for that.

I would suggest if we are doing more than one 'winner', having last place sends 3 sticks out to 3rd (or whatever) place and the 2 'next to last' paying second (or which ever). Something similar to a poker payout where 20% get 'paid'. Once we have a final number I could design a hypothetical payout structure if you like and see what everyone else thinks. :hm

As it stands, assuming there are 16 players.

Hypothetical Structure:

4th - 3 sticks from 16th (a small consolation for the humiliation of getting dead last)
3rd - 5 sticks from 15th
2nd - 5 sticks from both 14th and 13th for a total of 10 sticks
1st - 5 sticks from each 12th thru 5th for a total of 40 sticks

Just my opinion, but we can tweak it if more players join or if anyone thinks this isn't fair. :tu

Huh, that little "view complete standings" link comes in handy...:D

Kept seeing everyone sign up but only had 10. Guess that;s what Top 10 standings mean.

Smoking cigar #1 in my little barber pole cigar tourney (Taboo Twist) and making my picks in all three bracket pools I'm in.

No worries, looks like a final of 19.

Updated hypothetical structure

19th pays 3 to 5th
18th pays 4 to 4th
17th pays 5 to 3rd
16th and 15th pay 5 each to 2nd (10)
14th thru 6th pay 5 each to 1st (45)

Still just my opinion, if there are any major problems please speak them now before we get too far into the tournament. We all know how math works sometimes around here, so the numbers above may turn into minimums :tu
