Perdomo
Yesterday Chuck the regional Perdomo rep came up to that shop to try and get Bill to add Perdomo to the shelves. Chuck insisted I try the Habano Corojo, Habano Maduro, Lot 23, Limited Edition Maduro, Patriarch, and something else.
The Patriarch was OK. I will never, ever smoke another Perdomo. Did I mention ever? :pu |
Re: Perdomo
Hmm...I enjoy the lot 23 maduro from time to time but that's really the only perdomo I've tried.
|
Re: Perdomo
It sounds like your mind is made up, good thing you didnt have to buy the cigars. I understand how you feel about Perdomo, I feel that way about Rolando Reyes cigars, when I see his cigars now I just say Naahh not doing that again.
You must of tried 5 or 6 different types of cigars, wow that would confuse my pallette. I'm not a huge Perdomo Fan but I've smoked quite a few and with the exception most were pretty good. The Golf series wasnt very popular, but I dug em.... so my taste my differ from the majority. Takes all brands I guess |
Re: Perdomo
I enjoy the champagne once in awhile if I'm in the mood for something light, but nothing else really draws me into the whole Perdomo line. To me they're just "alright" cigars.

Have some of the other Perdomo lines (Champagne, Golf) but don't care for them. I do like the Lot 23's though. |
Re: Perdomo
Did you try the Perdomo Lot 23 Darrell? I find these to be a good "cheaper" cigar.

I will save the Perdomos for you, friends. :D |
Re: Perdomo
I like the slowaged maduro and the Perdomo sungrown.
|
Re: Perdomo
perdomo, CAO, gurkha... they all just kind've bleed into each other.
|
Re: Perdomo
I recently tried some of the red and yellow banded Perdomo^2 sticks, and found them to be enjoyable.
|
Re: Perdomo
I used to like the Champagne but smoked one I had been ignoring for several months and it was wasn't anything I'd want to reach for again.
|
Re: Perdomo
I consider myself a bit of a Perdomo Wh0re. Haven't met a bad one yet.
Correction: I smoked a bad perdomo2 a long time ago and tossed it an inch in. Other than that though, many Perdomos are my go to smokes. The Habano Corojo being one of my favs :dr. |
Re: Perdomo
I enjoy the Limited Edition Maduro and Lot 23 Maduro!!!
Darrell, I know that you'll want to carry Perdomo based solely on my recommendation!!!;) |
Re: Perdomo
I do like the Champagnes and Lot 23 Maduros.

Lot 23 churchill maddy -a good smoke for the price
|
Re: Perdomo
Sort of hit and miss for me. I have some of the Golf and a sampler package that came free with them. I've also had the Lot 23 that I thought was pretty good for what I paid.
|
Re: Perdomo
The ESV 91's arent bad and seem to be getting better with some age.
|
Re: Perdomo
I recently tried the Habano Corojo and the first 3/4" of the cigar was great ... the rest of the cigar however turned to average. Something that I would try again maybe not everyday though.
|
Re: Perdomo
I like the Habano Corojo a lot myself. I have a bunch of Lot 23s that I need to try.

Re: Perdomo
I enjoy the Lot 23 Maduro. The only other one I have had was the Reserve Maduro. It was pretty decent. I have both Habano's waiting in the humi to be tried.
|
Re: Perdomo
We carry Perdomo at the shop and there are two I will smoke. The smallest Habano Corojo and the red band perdomo2. Most of there cigars are a very high RG, which I'm not a fan of from the get go.

Now, I've had the ESV 91 Regente which I thought was a solid smoke. Darrell, did the rep happen to leave any of the new Reserve 10th Anni Criollo or Maddy sticks with your shop? |
Re: Perdomo
I haven't tried all of the blends but I do enjoy the ESVs, 10th anni Cuban Criollo, and the Sun Grown. I do want to revisit the Lot 23.

Re: Perdomo
I really miss the Cuban Parejo.
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/pictur...pictureid=1527 I really liked those and can't find em anywhere. I tried the Habanos thinking they were a good replacement and was sadly disappointed. Some of the Perdomo La Tradicion's aren't bad but def. nothing to write home about. |

Re: Perdomo
Funny, I'm a big fan of a lot of the Perdomos. I like the Habano line and much of the cabinet selections. Shame you're not gonna carry them.
|
Re: Perdomo
I actually jumped the gun. I forgot about the Perdomo Habano. I have a box of the maduro in the humidor and so far they have been pretty good.

Re: Perdomo
Hmmm I like the Cab series SG and Cameroon. The Perdomo Habano Corojo is outstanding. I have yet to try the Lot 23. But I guess that's why there are a million brands and brand offerings, a little something for everyone. As a store owner, I wouldn't care what was on the shelf as long as it sold. Even if they were CAOs... Cuz a CAO will never again pass my lips :D
|
Re: Perdomo
I had a fiver of Perdomos that came in red cellophane (Cabinet Series I think) which I thought were pretty good at the time. There's a Perdomo event at my local lounge next Friday so I guess I will find out for myself if there is anything I still like.

I am a big fan of the perdomo line. I like virtually all of them in all vitolas and wrappers. Edicion de silvio salamone. Is a legend 4 as is the patriarch.

|
Re: Perdomo
I enjoy:
Habano corojo Habano maduro ESV Edicion de Silvio Have a Patriarch that I haven't smoked yet. |
Re: Perdomo
I use to enjoy the red label Y2K and one or two of the La Tradicion but overall, have to agree with you Darrell, Perdomo is not my cup of tea.
|
Re: Perdomo
I really enjoy most everything from Nick Perdomo. He's a great guy too. He'll continue to get my business.
|
Re: Perdomo
Smoking a Perdomo Criollo 10th Anniversary and I have to say, it's a pretty good smoke.
|
Re: Perdomo
I smoke both the Lot 23 Churchill and the Gran Habano Connecticut Toro. Both are great smokes. I just got a fiver of the Cuban Parejo Toro and am letting them rest for a bit.
|
Re: Perdomo
Legends Red Label, 10th Ann. Chapagne (mild but good), Slow Aged 826 Maduro, Reserve Oscuro and Maduro, Perdomo2 maduro are all very good smokes IMO. For the money Perdomo makes some very good cigars.
|
Re: Perdomo
Lot #23 maduro is one of my favorites...go to stick for sure!!
|
Re: Perdomo
I remember this thread....
I enjoy all the Perdomo line, they are a real go to for me |
Re: Perdomo
Got to say, Nick doesn't make the best cigars in the world but he makes a good cigar at a cheap price.
Aside from that, I have known Nick well for 13 years, as has my dad. I have never, ever met a cigar maker that is so, so generous as he is. That man is always gifting stuff to us, specially my dad. Just saw Nick this Friday and he was so glad to see dad. Hasn't seen him in a while and couldn't stop praising him for being a loyal customer. Nick would keep his shop open just for dad on Saturdays as he knew he would always go to see him. Classy guy all the way!!! |
