Let see your man caves

Did a quick search, did not see anything. Lets see your man caves, or smoking areas!

http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/...50/mancave.jpg

Heres mine, home made ventilation using a gable fan hanging from the rafters, and some ducting.

I'm trying to convince the wife to let me turn the spare bedroom into one, but everytime I get close, she says NO SMOKING IN THE HOUSE!!!! :td

One day!!!

Re: Let see your man caves

I gave up the rest of the house to build this room:)

its a tough sell, but with enough ventilation, there is no odor in the rest of the house.

Buy one of those Ozone Purifier things. I hear they will eliminate cigar odors and make the room smell fresher than it ever had. They are expensive tho, but hey, worth a shot.

My wife works for a company that sells air filtration units. I can tell you the ozone purifiers are not typically what you want for smoke. Especially not having any sort of fan to pull the smoke.

Pics back when it was still new. It smells like musty old cigars now. And the Vette is replaced by two little girls......

Such is life.

I'm so stoked, my Fiancee keeps saying "When we get another place, we need to get an extra room so you have a Cigar Room." I'm now ok with breaking our lease :r

I'm jealous of you guys! We haven't been in our new home for long but the office is mine to do as I please...except smoke in. I figure it will make a nice humidor/man cave room though eventually.

Re: Let see your man caves

I have the garage and a the room connected to it. We live in a town home, 3 stories. So the bottom is all mine! The garage is a garage.. Just some misc things in there. Room.. Is slowly getting converted. It is a small room. So not much but a couch if that and TV is planned. I am getting a bumper pool table/poker table in a few weeks.

I have to find some pictures.

the best way to keep the smell out of the rest of the house is to maintain negative pressure in the room, this means having a fan of some kind sucking air out of the room. if you keep the fan going (even on a low speed) smoke can never get out of the room and you wont smell it in the rest of the house. I dont even have a door on my smoking room (just a doubled-up cheap curtain) and you cant smell smoke even a foot away from the curtain. I use a window fan for my exhausting BTW, I have used this technique in 2 different dens in different apartments and it always works like a charm

if anyone has any questions about my setup drop me a PM and I would be glad to help

*Really* nice, Howard. You and others have now inspired me to have to build myself a "man cave" once we get settled in our new Texas digs in a few weeks. Guess I need to finish up the shop/garage first, though!

Its not so much a cave rather more a potting shed with the added benefit of a door that dosnt close properly and mice lots of mice.

Here is my gameplan/layout:
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7191/6...51bc0eb9_z.jpg
This is a very small area, I can barley fit any furniture but I wanted to at least have four seats plus an ottoman to use as a fifth if needed.
Everything should fit but this furniture is all micro in size. I can't wait to get this project started, the wife says no smoking in the house so I gotta use the only other space I have. I want to install a bathroom exhaust fan in the ceiling, paint the walls put up crown molding, lay Pergo, and a nice size rug, also do a nice drape across the entrance. Maybe a small flat screen hanging up in the corner of the room also.

Good luck guys! I don't have any hope of smoking in the house, but maybe I can convert out 2 car Garage (which we only park 1 car in) to a 1 Car + Man Cave...hmm

Bill, thats where I am.....2 chairs a small table, tv mounted on the wall and a Heater Buddy for the cold days. When the fog gets to thick I raise the door for a couple of minutes and then we're good to go :banger

I had a little room heater that looked exactly like that one and it was recalled cause they said they were causing fires. I would google the model number just to be safe!!!

Re: Let see your man caves

Todays work, clean up a little, installed new lighting and hang a banner. Also put in a 500 SQ FT' Air purifier to filter cigar smoke so I can smoke in the house.
http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...46057244_n.jpg

Tommorow will be to finish cleaning, put in a couch, put in a tv and dvd player (eventually dish network service for that room).
Considering putting in a mini fridge for pop.
