A friend bought one of those at a duty free stop on a cruise. Nardin's are heavily discounted which may be of concern on eventual value.

And good call on the Orient, Darren. For the money, they are hard to beat. I've been wearing one of theirs with a blue dial as my pool/vacation watch for a few years. It's by far the best value watch I own and I've recommended them to a lot of folks.

Thanks James, I've come to love them. Since then I've gotten a Hemel Track with the bead blasted case and a pretty decent Miyota movement:

and ordered this Hamilton Khaki Field Pioneer 42mm hand wind:

I'm gonna be paying for them for a little while. :r

Didn’t get it... couldn’t find it locally and have been too busy to travel to see it. While I love the unique face layout I started to think I might prefer something more classic. I was also reading mixed opinions about the quality of Montblanc. Another strong contender was this: https://www.glashuette-original.com/...90-02-42-32-05 ... But I’m now leaning towards this Nardin: https://monochrome-watches.com/intro...r-specs-price/

I hear really good things about both of them. :tu

I’ve been gathering early 70’s Times stuff that works to rebuild a watch my father left when he passed.
I’m almost there. I just need to sit down with all of it and start building.
It ain’t easy.
You guys try to rewind a mainspring sometime and see how it goes.

Hey Scott, you probably know this but there are some great watch repair videos on YouTube.

I am really digging some of the new Ball releases. Would like to get one of those.

My friend bought a similar style Nardin on a cruise and he's loving it too.

Oops, ROFL at how useless the tiny picture is - just looked on a full monitor for the first time.
Doesn't show the guilloche or tourbillon very well but google for "pro" photos (it's different than the previous big picture I embedded).

Anyone know if a tourbillon tends to be noisier than other movements?

Ok, that is a different watch then his. His is not Tourbillon. I'd think you'd hear/feel some more noise & movement considering the additional parts turning.

I have a couple watches, pocket watches mostly. A couple are old railroad watches, but they need rebuilding and restoration. The one I wear is a no name mechanical with a dragon design hunter case. Keeps good time though.

Probably my next watch:

My dream watch:

I can recommend a guy in Chicago if you like. Cash or Zelle (I think) only, but he does really nice work.

Me, I'm into vintage Hamilton wristwatches these days....
