Another questionable call by MM in late innings that came back to bite the Cards. Pretty sure he was playing the percentages but walking a guy only to pitch to a guy who is hitting clutch as of late was not such a good idea.

Yep. But, at least, I understand why he did it. I'm not sure I understand why he felt the need to put in Mott in top of the 9th when we were down by a run. I think he should have stayed with Boggs and saved Mott in case we tied it. Or, at the very least, stayed with Boggs until he got into trouble and then made a double switch so he could have Mott the next inning in case we tied it. He burned up his options for no good reason.

Miller looked really good last night. Understand the pressure was not really on him but he was painting the corners and has a great Carpish slider.

No dog in the fight, but that call was awful. Almost thought the replacement NFL refs were on the field.

We were on an airplane headed home during the game. Haven't seen the replay yet. Maybe he shouldn't have called the infield fly rule but he did and he can't change the call just because Kozma missed the ball. Btw, I'm not pissed either .... :D

MLB ballplayers were all over Twitter saying what a horrible call it was. Kudos to the Barves players for the way they handled it. Shame on the ump for one of the most brutal calls I have ever seen.

Great game to erase the flop yesterday. If it was MY TEAM ( :D ) I would be taking Kozma out and putting Skip in at SS.

And it helps when the team you're playing looks like crap. The Nats played like they didn't even come out of the clubhouse.

Lol, sure. Well maybe they will show up tomorrow and decide to play. I know Beltran was ready to go once again.

Mac, I love you man but you have to get over that ONE strike. When it comes to the post season he has one of the best averages in history.

It goes A LOT deeper than that Jake. His last two years in New York he "dipped out" on Wounded Warriors. Every August for the last five years when the Mets visit DC, the team goes to Walter Reed/Bethesda to visit the Wounded Warriors. Beltran skipped out the last two years claiming he had prior engagements...COMPLETE BUM in my book. :td :td :td :td He could be on fire and I wouldn't piss on him.

Lol, ok. I don't take it personally, the guy plays baseball and does a good job at it from what I have seen. There are so many things that get reported these days that are only half true, who knows why he did not go. All I know is, its baseball.

I hear ya...but he didn't play for crap in NY. Not $119 million worth...not even close.

yup. A lot of them are pressing. We will see if they finally relax enough to just play.

Less than an hour to go, may the best team win! Who ever it is I'll be pulling for later on, but I would MUCH rather it be the Cards. 12 in 2012!

Not one bit, it's all a bit of a blur right now but I can't remember a game this year where he has been hit like that. It is not over but it's sure as hell not looking good for the Cards.
