Finally Datsuyk came alive. 2 goals and an assist in the win over Vancouver. I don't know what we are doing with our goalie situation. Ozzie faced 4 shots and allowed 2 goals. He may be the man in the playoffs but we have to make it there first.

Hey theres the wing fan I was wondering where you went. Its okay to call your team out when they loose I do it with the Sharks and Tom does it with the Hawks :r

You guys in detroit got an interesting issue. You guys may end up as the flyers of recent years. Pretty solid from the blue line out, but no stability in Goal. I said last year that this was the year the cap was finally going to take a hit on the Wings. So far this looks like the case. Sure the wings will make the playoffs, just expect goal tending issues and some up and down nights.

Taking Micah to the Sharks game tonight. His first one of the season. Love taking him because he has been going since birth. One of the only little kids you will ever see not bouncing in his seat, just sits there and watches the game repeating what dad yells. :r

AMAZING.... He is playing sooooo well and I think that translates to confidence to the D in front of him. For such a young team, they play with A LOT of confidence and are making few mistakes.

What a great start to the season..... It is EARLY....but doesn't make this any less fun.:tu

Got to watch most of the Caps game last night, got a nice W with Ovechkin making it look worse than it was at the end on empty net

Yes, he should have been the Panther's number 1 goalie last year, but they couldn't do that with Vokoun's big contract...it would have been admitting a mistake. Well, they made an even bigger mistake in the off-season letting Anderson sign elsewhere.

This could well be the Hawks' Achilles heel this year as well. Huet has had two solid games in a row and all the columnists, etc., in Chicago are saying he has turned the corner....Me? I ain't so sure.

they have been hyping it all week on xm 204.
Seriously if you guys dont have xm radio for the hockey talk you need to get it. Then again out here in Cali we need it because radio is CRAP for hockey.

5-2 edmonton after 2. Watching a stream. Funny last night the wings had found their game tonight its back to goaltending is killing them.

I would just send you a fiver now, but my selection is the suck still. By the end of the season I should be able to smack you good.

They keep dropping them to. They loose tonight. Why I bet for anyone in a Wings uniform is beyond me.

Because at the end of the day you know its the sound choice. I don't know about Bertuzzi getting 25 goals but the Wings will be playing better hockey when playoffs roll around.

We've known for a while Howard wasn't very good. Ozzie is going through another mental breakdown is what it seems like.

Letting Conklin go is really going to hurt us during the regular season. Ozzie can't be relied on for a whole season. He needs to be platooned until the playoffs start.

Letting Conklin go was probably a mistake, though I don't know the Wings' salary cap considerations.

Ozzie does have a pretty proven track record in the playoffs, hard to argue with that.

Thrashers have to go on the road to start winning again. A 50 save game for Pavelec against Ottawa. If anyone gets a chance to watch the highlights, there are some amazing saves on there. It took a 2-man advantage for them to even get their one goal.

They lost to Nabby and the Sharks also.
The Sharks have been playing well finally. Looks like maybe things are finally starting to click. Heatley is doing exactly what they brought him in to do. Marleau is having a typical Pattie season, Super solid. Hoping with the preasure on Heatley in the playoffs maybe he will do well this year in the post season.

Sharks showed a lot of grit yesterday. The first goal by Sutter for Carolina did not even have a chance to be celebrated before the Sharks found the back of the net. Carolina looks lost at this point. Alas, alas. :(

Yeah I saw that but didnt want to say anything. They do look a little rough right now. Given the pieces are still there and they made a deep run last year I believe it will come back around. The old saying you cant keep a good dog down.

Joe, it seems that every time the Hurricanes make it deep into the playoffs, they miss the playoffs the following season. Is there any discussion of this in the Carolina media?

Sorry for your pain...I had about 15 years of it without a break with the Hawks.

Man the Sharks are bad news for other teams stars. First Kovalchuck gets hurt in a game against them, now one of the Stall in Carolina.

TONS of discussion... just no answers!
Everybody has the attitude, "What the heck is going on?!"

Chuck Kaiton, long-time radio broadcaster (goes back through the Whaler's days) said he has not seen anything like this with this franchise since 1982. All the peices are there... looks good on paper... deep run into last year's playoffs... and just stinkin' up the ice.

Lots of pride and veteran presence on the ice - but it sure is not showing. 'Canes fans are trying not to panic, but 13 points back from first on the Southeast this early in the season is scary.

Yotes lost to the Kings tonight but in their defense Labarbiedoll was in the net and let in some bad goals as well as a little poor puck handling.

Anyone noticed the Islanders are moving up the standings? Watched the highlights of tonights game and they got the win, but in part do to lucky bounces. I love how Roloson is still drawing interfernece calls when his ass leaves the crease. Thought they stopped giving away those freebies.

With the Winter Classic set for Boston's Fenway Park on Jan. 1 (the Bruins against the Flyers), The Boston Globe reports the ice is being made available starting Dec. 18 for corporate events or pickup games.

All it will cost to play in the shadow of the Green Monster is $7,500 to $10,000. That's per hour.
