Thanks guys, it's a 1930s General Electric refrigerator. I gutted it and restored it. Had custom drawers made from Forrest.

After going through this thread and seeing the many awesome humidors and collections, I feel almost ashamed posting my little tupperdor.
http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2c933c83.jpg http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psd0db15f6.jpg It's not much, but it does the job for now. Hoping to talk the wife into getting me a real humidor for Christmas or my birthday. |

Just look on Craigslist. There are plenty on there for a good price. |
Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
Tupperdors are awesome and I always keep some around, but if you want inexpensive, hassle-free, large capacity storage and aging capability, just get a cooler and some beads. They're like giant tupperdors. My RH holds rock steady at 65% with almost no maintenance.

Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
Been making the most out of this Coleman 28 quart cooler. It has been working out very nicely so far but I will need to get myself and big one eventually.
Here is the cooler and my desktop humi http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4bf34821.jpg Some beads and boxes at the bottom. http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...ps470d51e8.jpg Then I have two trays for the rest http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...ps869de4d2.jpg http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...psc3c5ceae.jpg I've been surprised about how much I can fit in here. At this point I could fit two more trays or two more boxes. Then I have my desktop humi too. http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...psbc477f03.jpg |

Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
I know the seal isn't the best but I'll put some food grade caulking on it and it will be fine I'm sure.
http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...ps18e24817.jpg I also got some beads! http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...ps227ba977.jpg |
Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
Adam did you make that yourself, or did you go through a professional? The quality looks top notch.
|
Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
Craigslist. It was made by a old school Vermont craftsman. Nice right? :D
|
Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!

While mine is not as impressive as Adam's, it does serve it's purpose.

Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
There are days when looking is every bit as satisfying as smoking.
http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps1c83ef43.jpg The tall cabinet on the left is the custom MXT that Bob Staebell built for me. On the credenza on the left is the desktop Bob also built to match the MXT and was gifted to me by some amazing inmates. On the right is the Cohiba 35 Anniversario Humidor (without the original sticks) that I picked up at SoCal this year. The two desktops have been holding rock solid humidity for several weeks without any active or passive devices. I'm very happy. |
Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
That MXT is a thing of beauty

Re: Let's see pictures of your humidors !!
I see all of these upright coolerdor's so I thought I'd top my setup from back at this post:
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showpo...postcount=2189 I had been using coolers since 97 and just took it to the next level. Bought it brand new, scratch/dent for under $500. The compressor has an on/off dial, so it stays off but I keep it plugged in for the light. http://www.jackweber.com/pics/Freezer/h1.jpg http://www.jackweber.com/pics/Freezer/h2.jpg http://www.jackweber.com/pics/Freezer/h3.JPG http://www.jackweber.com/pics/Freezer/h4.JPG http://www.jackweber.com/pics/Freezer/h5.JPG As you can see in the last pic, there are movable shelves on the inside of the door. I have about 4lbs of beads dispersed across all levels of the shelves so that when I close the door every level has some beads. Been using this now for over 3 years and will NEVER not use it. Steady as can be! |
