Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Hawks game was a LOT closer than it looked on paper (4-1, but 2 empty net goals).
1st Wild Card team will likely face two out of LA, Anaheim or SJ in the first two rounds, then meet up with the Central winner in the conference finals. Not a very easy task, I suggest the Hawks step it up and stay ahad of Nashville, who are looking real good lately. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
At the rate the sharks are playing, I wouldn't bank on them doing much. Put together a good 3rd period against the Stars, but one period does not make a game.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Tom - Scheifele is rocking again tonight. Tune in to the Jets game! He has 2 in already - some serious skill on the first!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Oh correction - one is Wheeler's - with Scheifele on the assist!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Saw 'em both, Neil. Glad to see them on the sheet, and since I was playing against Pavelec (sp?) in fantasy playoffs, wasn't that sad to see them lose. ;s

Tom is your squad coasting right now or is there some actual issues going on? I have a feeling we will see a normal Hawks team tonight. Can't let us get the season sweep.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I seriously can't believe the Wild right now. They look like a completely different team for the last month.

Oh and by the way, Duncan Keith should be suspended through the first playoff series for his stick slash to Coyles face. Maybe even the rest of the season to send a message. Second offense of this nature for Keith. Used to think that guy was a helluva player. Lost all respect for him last night.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
On another note, Wings and Bruins both lose! Good news for the Flyers. Hopefully the Caps have a President's Trophy hangover tonight.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Not that I have any skin in the game, but I just saw an article that said Keith was suspended indefinitely.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Forgot Tom was on vacation. This would be much more fun if Tom wasn't on vacation.....

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
WWII veteran Len Kropioski (sp?) - made his return to MTS on Tuesday, after a several weeks away. His face is always on the jumbotron saluting the anthems.
Anyway - not in his usual front row seat, but back nonetheless. Kroppy got quite he ovation! http://video.jets.nhl.com/videocente...d=96&id=946215 |

My first thought when I it saw it was of Maki's shot to Ted Green's head in '69. (Ted did take the first swing, thankfully missing.) He suffered brain damage. This kind of thing has to stop in the game.:2 |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Hawks - Jets - one heck is of a game tonight. Wheeler and Scheifele still piling on the points for Tom.
OT win for Hawks. You're welcome Tom. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Keith gets 6 games.

I may be biased being a Wild fan, but he should've gotten more and I think he would have if Coyle have gotten more than a cut and black eye. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I don't think there is any question there was intent. That said, I'm okay with 6 games. With his history, he now also has multiple offenses with his stick. If he happens into this again, he's in serious trouble.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
ADD: I think the lack of "serious" damage, for better or worse, had weight on the suspension.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Thankfully Coyle looks just fine from our seats.
Jets waiting to be spoilers.... http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...sqvofk9ts.jpeg |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I could really really really really use a big Jets win tonight, Neil, maybe you can let them know for me :) :tu
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
So far Scheifele continues on his point streak
1-0 at the first intermission This building is rocking, even if the team is out! Not going to make it easy for the Wild. I think the Minnesota boys in the team (Wheeler and Buff) really relish this! |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
My entire fantasy season is basically riding on the last 20 minutes of that game .. come on JETS!!!!

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I love me some Jets!

Yah I was all over it, the 4th goal did it and the 5th was just icing on the cake. :tu

I feel yah there brother - our team has driven us insane with their inconsistency.
Schizo crowd last night - Wheeler absolutely steamrolls Dubnyk behind his net and gets 2 minutes. Crowd furious, because goalie was outside his blue paint - "Refs you suck" chant goes up. 10 Minutes later there is an announcement that linesman Brad Lazarowich is retiring - he gets a standing ovation. Just weird if you ask me.... Gotta love those zebras..... |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Maybe they thought he was retiring on the spot :D
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Missed it all until yesterday, watched the Hawks get the 6 in a San Diego breakfast bar. missed the Bruins' 4....so I say it never happened.
Minnesota has to get to the conference finals this year to play the Hawks, so Keith's suspension wouldn't have helped then anyway. ;) ;s |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Nice little quote from Don Cherry talking about how Rask couldn't stop a beachball. :lr He does know his hockey!

You're fortunate to play Dallas or St Louis in the first round, Pete, I wouldn't want to travel and face Anaheim or L.A. this early. :2

Well with the Avs out, hope Anaheim rolls late. I'll be down there for some work in May, hope they can give me some love.

Three of my most hated players in the NHL play for Anaheim. Love to see them get ousted in round 1....;s E.J. :r

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Flyers looked tired last night. Hopefully they play better this weekend. Still control their own destiny, but I'll be rooting for Ottawa and, for the first time in a very long time, the Rangers tomorrow. A little help never hurt!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Nothing wrong with rooting for a rival if it helps your team. I'll be rooting for the Wild, the Sharks and the Predators in round 1.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I'm hoping we play Dallas. We've had close games with them all season and we have stronger goaltending.

Season is on the line and Rask is sitting because he's "sick", sounds like they would rather take their chances with the backup.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
My backside is on fire. The Bruins game isn't on because they're showing a repeat of a Sox game. Two nights ago it was English soccer. My cable provider sucks more than a Rocky Patel cigar. Arrgghhhh!:td

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
It's on here, you aren't missing anything, well other than 4 goalies by the Sens .. they just scored two in about a minute ... they need to get rid of Rask, I can't believe he isn't playing with the season on the line he's a *****.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Keep it up, Sens!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Rask has vaginitis.
