Better for Huet's head right now, the home crowd is not showing him any love, and a loss to the Bulin Wall could have been devastating to his fragile confidence. Niemi played well enough to get the Hawks a win, but was not overly impressive, as he didn't have to face many shots.

Hope the Canes go on a roll, Joe. :tu

I am sure this kid feels honored to be copied. Remember seeing this in 06 or 07 on sports center. This kids from texas though and he pulled it in front of 17,000 at intermission. Very Cool stuff though to see little kids pulling Michigans like that. Pretty sure Micah wont be rocking this move in 5-6 years.

Lets not be salty about last year Al:r Seriously though, I agree. I think the first game the hawks play Pit is in December at Pit, so it will be marked on my calander for sure.

Come on Sens!

Wish I could watch the damn game. I pay $10 a month for the uverse sports package, and all the damn games I want to watch on fox sports channels and that are blocked out in my area. So I'm basically paying $10 a month to get the NHL channel. May just drop it and be happy w/ the games that get put on U-Verse.....at least until playoffs

playoffs?! you're talking about playoffs?! playoffs!??

The sharks were horrid!
Watched part of the Yotes and Blues game. I saw the same thing from the coyotes tonight as when they played the sharks. Always positionally sound intercept a ton of breakout passes. Just very solid defensively. I believe they are near the lowest goals against currently. Not always the most exciting style of play if you dont like good D, but I am very impressed with there improvememnt.

Thrashers top the Devils in a great game. Any time you can put 4 past Brodeur you have to be happy. Evander Kane is looking good and gets his second goal. Pavelec was impressive as well and I am happy the Thrashers finally have a consistent netminder.

Also, 5-5 on the PK and a shorthanded goal is nice.

UGH I cant believe we (the Devils) played like we did. Atleast 2 goals I saw could and should have been stopped

Thrashers are on a roll. Kovalchuk scores another 2 goals tonight to help the Thrashers go to 4-1 on the season by handing the Sabres their first regulation loss this season. Best start in franchise history. Go Thrashers!

Hawks goaltending was shoddy again...They need to score 4-5 goals a game to have a chance to win the way Huet is playing.

Sharks win Clowe lays the beat down and yet again the Yotes put up another rock solid game beating the Bruins easily. Im telling you guys if you get a chance start watching the coyotes games. Solid solid hockey being played in the Desert.

What is the deal with the Bruins
One night Steller and the next a :pn
No Defense no Goal tending and the offense is non-existing.
If they do a first to worst it is gonna be a crappy year.
Let's hope for a better team in the coming months

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

Its part bruins part the fact that the Yotes are playing amazing positional hockey. They are always in the right place. They constantly stop break outs and are always in passing lanes. I mean come on they have only allowed 10 goals this year so far. That is the fewest goals allowed in THE WHOLE LEAGUE!

I said it before and I will say it again. The NHL needs to pull its head out and have some games on sundays during football season.

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

I've been impressed with the yotes too. I thought the penguins were going to kill them. But the yotes defense totally shut down their offense. I've been paying attention to the ever since. Too bad they don't get much attendance at home, that might affect them after awihle.

They do have an excellent defense and the arena was only half full on Saturday. I think people out here just got tired of the BS that has been going on since the summer.

Well I would wager a bet, but they are so hot and cold right now you just dont know what will happen.

Hopefully the Rangers get bit in the ass.

Pavelec was amazing for the Thrashers right up until the shootout. Oh well, still got a point and they finally come back to Blueland on Thursday after a 7 point road trip. Two really tough games coming up against the Caps and Sharks. Would be nice to get at least one of them. They are going to have to be better on offense than they were tonight if they want to have a chance.

Like I knew the rangers were going to run their Jr. B Goalie out there. :r
Even the sharks feed was talking about how bad the goalie was playing. Too deep in the net and giving up eggs all over the front of the net.

Still they did play strong but you just dont know what team is going to show up this early in the year.

Sounds like a good time...Im going to have to make over to Buffalo soon to get a live NHL fix.

The Wolves have had a rough start to the year...maybe chelly will turn em around(not that I really want to see that happen from a Moose fan perspective:r).

That's who they play Friday I believe, Matt. Wolves fired their coaching staff Monday, so big changes should be afoot. They sure need them, the Icehogs are gobbling them up so far.

Ya thats what I thought...Moose are looking pretty good so far from what I hear. Biggest thing is their goaltending has been strong.

Who are they looking to take the reigns behind the bench?

They haven't tipped their hand at all. If Chelios wasn't so Hellbent on getting back to the Big Show, I'd guess they might make the mistake of offering him the "Player-Coach" title.
