So jealous of my friends Commodore 64. I had the Vic 20. Memory storage on cassette tapes. Games were an instruction manual to write it yourself in BASIC.

My first programming job (1976) was on an NCR Century 101. Fast card reader and quire reliable. The IBM card punch machines with the duplicate function were da bomb!

I had been programming for several years beforehand, but the NCR is the only computer to electrocute me 3 times in one day, so it has a special place in my heart.

how did you electrocute yourself with one of these?

The switch panel lifts up. It has a 220 input to dive all of it. My stupid boss was telling me how to fix the card reader start button over the phone using a paper clip. After three tries, I told his to shove it and went home.
