Congrats Joe, wish the Hawks had faired as well. Wonder if Roloson was being showcased for a possible trade to the Hawks....

Not sure I understand the Wolski deal....

Maybe getting something before not resigning Wolski at the end of the year....

But my first thought is...in this years playoff battle....Phoenix just got better, the Avs got worse.....

Wolski and the powers that be in Colorado were rumored to be at odds for quite some time.

Maybe things went over the top on Monday night as Adrian Dater states in this article... But I still think the Avs got the bad end of this thing and gave the better end to someone they are fighting for playoff position with....

Mr. Dater's position is that both teams are taking a gamble, but I think there is only one team that is hoping for a "shake up" in the player they just picked up.....

http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2010...anche%3A+Blog)

"Something went very wrong after Monday’s game, in the relations between the Avs and Wolski. There are plenty of indications that the coaching staff and management were furious at the effort he put forth, and decided then and there to put him on the trade block. Wolski left the Pepsi Center that night with an angry look on his face. Stuff happens all the time, but something obviously went bad that night."

I will wait and see, but I think maybe the rope just shortened a bit.

Oh, me too, me too! :r

Hawks stood pat with Niemi and Huet. Their defense will have to play the way it did midseason for them to have a chance in the playoffs, as neither goalies' dave percentage in impressive.

Nice game tonight for Hossa, Toews, Keith and Kane.

Blackhawks take over 1st place in the West by virtue of wins....but they have a tough stretch coming up with Vancouver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Philly and Washington. San Jose has Montreal, Columbus, Nashville, Florida and Anaheim, so the top spot may be short lived if Nabokov gets back on track.

Oh...and Berschmoozi failed to score again tonight. He needs 10 goals in 19 games to hit 25.

apparently the Senators orginization has a few very classy people working there. Last night during the US national anthem they played a video highlight package of the Canadian Gold Medal win over the US. They are claiming now it was a perfectly timed accident.

I can only imagine the backlash if the Americans had won and something like this occurred here.

Way to keep it classy Sens organization.

Can I get a translation on that? :p

I agree that the defense will have to remain in form. Both goalies have a save percentage a little over .900 but the GAA for both of them is around 2.30, which is pretty good, and speaks a lot about our defense as a team.

Oops. :r

Yeah, I think the Hawks allow the fewest SOG per game, so if Niemi and Huet can stop the puck at .900, we should be OK.

Worry not... the Hurricanes spanked them tonight 4-1. Two of the four goals were scored by Americans. ;)
