The Buff slap was still the best part. (Although it did cost a PP goal)

I would have loved to have heard what Sharp said to deserve the B#tch slapping from his old teammate!

Acquiring Reto Berra was a very poor decision.

That is all.

Jets are killing me this season.

Clinging to wild card spot with fingernails and chased by tough teams, with a daunting few games left.

Can we yet again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, or do we get to see the Ducks in The'Peg again for a few games?????

Rooting for the Jets to make it, it would make the postseason a little more interesting, Neil.

How many games do you think Byfuglein is gonna get?

I reckon 5. They don't like him - he's a bit of a bully at times. :D

Pavelec not at all leaky last night with a 2-0 shutout against the wild. Stafford and Myers have a strong game again, and Lowry bangs a few guys around. Intense stuff.
Jump ahead of LA above the line again.

Loving the a Western showdown!

Hoping the Jets can knock the Kings out of it, but they have a tough test tonight with the Blues.

I'm heading down to the UC for the Hawks-Wild game tonight, hope Cawford can match what Pavelec did last night.

Well, the Hawks didn't get the win tonight, but every other team I was rooting for did,
Blues and Preds both lost in regulation, and the Jets started hitting the nail in L.A.'s coffin. Good stuff.

Two games to go. Fantastic when they still mean something. This town has been hungry for a post season ( in anything). Pav just has to keep his leak plugged! He played really well the last two nights.

2 weeks ago I posted this and I was still confident the Isles would finish in 2nd in the Metro now I am not even sure they will make the post season. They only need 1 point to clinch but as seen last night with 3 seconds left in a tie game Mcdonald screws up and Halak finish the F up of events to lose in regulation. WTF!

This is bad coaching unable to adjust. during the ASB teams figured out how to play us and Capuana has yet to adjust...nevermind in game adjustments. I think this team was doing well earlier on inspite of the terrible coaching staff. I pray to the O'Might Bossy that this is corrected before next season...can I get a Babcock? I heard he might come available.

End Rant!

Entire town is holding it's breath....

One more win chaps..... (or one more loss for the Kings)

The Jets have had some trouble with Colorado this season, so it's no gimme tonight, and Calgary will be hopping in the last game....

Even so, my group is confidently holding our draw for playoff seats (I share a couple of season tickets with a friend), and folk are out buying white clothes for a good old Winnipeg white-out!

You're on btw. If they match up with Chicago I'll find you a ticket.

Nice win for the Avs.... Berra actually made a few saves. Too bad the Avs dug themselves such a big hole early.

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread

Jets in, Flames in, Kings out. A good night, even with another 1 goal loss for the Hawks.

Hawks will start the playoffs in Nashville, I think they're beatable, and hopefully we'll have Kane back by Round 2.

Wild have had the Blues number this season, I hope they get the Blues, but they might get the Ducks. Both the Blues and Ducks have somewhat questionable goaltending, I think the Wild have a good chance versus either of them.

I think the Blues would pound the Flames, but I can still hope the Blues get yet another first round exit. ;)

Good possibility the Bruins could get eliminated too, which would mean only the Hawks would remain out of the llast 5 SC Champs. If the Penguins get bounced the next 2 days, make that possibly the last 6.

just a public service announcement.... If you have Comcast/Xfinity, the NHL game package is free for the first week of the MLB season, so all of the games should be on today even if it's out of market. At least I assume that it's throughout the country.

DirecTV ****ed its hockey customers today, several games not available. Bruins game, Ottawa game, NYI game among others. I talked to customer service and they claimed that those games are Canadien feeds and not always carried.

First off, 98& of Canadien feeds were carried until today.

Second of all, how the flying **** are NYI-Columbus and Bruins-Lightning "Canadien feeds"??? ***ing douche bags......

Vancouver Vs. Calgary for Western Canada supremecy.

Monteal Vs. Ottawa for Central Canada supremecy.

Blues Vs. Wild for the Wild to shove it up the Blews asses. :tu

Kings Vs Sharks......on the California golf courses. ;s

If the Jets get past the Ducks, they'll actually have a good shot in round 2 - they've given Calgary heck this year for sure. That would be an old fashioned matchup if it happened.

Get past the Ducks..... Hmmmm.... Easier said than done, and California golf courses are getting crowded already.

No so much last night, but finishing 12-7 in March/April. Avs were playing solid hockey towards the end, just buried themselves at the start of the season.

That said, the Avs finished 3-2 overall vs Chicago, winning 3 straight. Like the season, started soft & finished strong....:tu

Learning season for this bunch. Losing EJ during what started as a career season & MacKinnon didn't help. I think the Avs had their most games lost to injury in the history of their franchise. No excuses, that's part of the game. Both EJ and Mac were healthy when they were losing at the start of the season.

It was a sad day when Stevie Y took the GM job in Tampa but, I knew we couldn't keep him and Ken Holland forever. I heard TB is refusing to sell tickets to Wings fans. Sad that they have to resort to such tactics to prevent the building from being red and white during home playoff games.

Sad.... Seems like solid management to me. Hell, if they could afford to, I wouldn't sell one ticket over the NHL requirement, to opposing fans. Give away what didn't sell to local hockey leagues, to fill the seats.

Sad because the team has put a good product on the ice that the local fans seem less than enthusiastic to support, at least support by spending money and showing up.

That's Tampa in general, the Rays get into the MLB playoffs and they can't even get close to a sellout. Just how it is.

E.J. 04-14-2015 03:27 PM

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread

I had not read that they were having a tough time selling playoff tickets, just your report that they don't want to sell to Red Wing fans.

Again, I think it's smart to try to fill the building with your own fans, perfectly reasonable.

E.J. 04-14-2015 03:30 PM

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread

Looks like TB was 8th in attendance and had no problem selling tickets in reg. season. So not selling to out of state buyers seems like a solid decision all around. Not sad at all.

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread

Bruins' GM Peter Chiarelli got the cyanide pill today. He has really been piss poor the last couple of seasons, giving up on Tyler S and trading him away for 2 1/2 bags of pucks was a killer, that and signing Rask to a long term deal at around 7 million a year, the guy has choked in every high pressure situation he has ever been in and doesn't look to be turning it around any time soon.

The real problem is the cap space, Jerome I. wanted to stay but no cap room, Jagr would have had a good impact on this team, but no cap room, seems he signed the players he shouldn't have for more money than he should have and let the important pieces walk or traded them away.

There is hope that he will be crying too much that his vision will be blurred when he's leaving the parking structure and run over Rask … a boy can dream can't he?
