From what I heard he looked pretty good today. I hope he stays healthy; used to love watching him pitch.

I'm sorry about that, man. I just saw it, I was shocked.
I'm going to see if I can correct it on my end and see if I can set it right. When I talked to you last night you should have known you'd lose W's for not meeting the minimum innings pitched, I'd have beat you 10-8-2 instead of 9-9-2, correct? I never even looked at your innings pitched or I'd have rubbed your nose in it last night. :)

Apparently 5 guys didn't meet the minimum innings pitched.
It appears I can't make an adjustment for just this week, or change the team scores. If I change minimum innings pitched to zero, it'lll fix this week, but it says it'll take 24 hours to show up. When I change it back to 40, I expect it'll just change the scores back.

I am truly sorry, and I hope you'll all forgive me on this.

I went and searched the rules for future use...

Head-to-Head Leagues
In all Public Leagues, the active members of a pitching staff must throw at least seven (7) total innings each week. Should a staff fail to meet this requirement, that team will automatically lose all five of the pitching matchups.
Custom Leagues default to the Public League settings, but the limits are configurable.
The maximum and actual games played information for your team is available by clicking on The minimum innings pitched information for your team link in the table at the bottom of your team page.

If a manager chooses to add/drop pitchers on a daily basis in order to maximize their innings pitched totals, this does not represent a violation of league rules or fair play guidelines.
Head-to-Head leagues do, however, feature an innings pitched minimum. This total must be reached each week. Failure to accumulate the minimum number of innings will result in forfeiture of all pitching categories for the week.
If both teams fail to reach the minimum, both teams will receive ties in all pitching categories.

Which is fine, because 8-10-2 is a helluva lot better than 6-14. That's ok though, I've got all season to kick your skull in.:sl

I'm hoping the set/reset of minimum innings works. I'd think there'd be another way to adjust team scores, but I can't find it.
I'm going to make you co-commish so you can look. Maybe you'll find something I missed.

Almost positive that you can't set something retroactively. Not that big of a deal. We've got twenty some weeks to compensate for this one.:tu

Just for clarification because I'm as dumb as a bag of hammers, forty innings pitched needs to be met in order to qualify for the pitching categories, correct?

Yes.
They do lift the minimum innings pitched requirement sometimes on shortened weeks, like those around the all-star break. That's a Yahoo thing that they do. Usually there will be an announcement on the league page or something.

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

Today should be my good day with four pitchers going. It should boost my pitching numbers unless one of them gets shelled!

shilala 04-11-2012 01:19 PM

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

That's a good way to get a look at your guys, if nothing else. I like when it happens early in the week, then I can grab a couple pitchers from the FA if I need a little bump to grab a category.

26 outs of shutout ball for Garza. One more out... Not sure how many complete game shutouts we'll see this season but it sucks to be so close to winning those two categories and yet so far away. Anyone in Chicago to herf with after I get done beating Cubs manager Dale Sveum with a bat? I mean, they had an 8 run lead, give the man a chance to finish off his shutout...

mkarnold1 04-12-2012 03:34 PM

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

At least the Twins figured out how to hit the ball and put some runs on the board the last two days. They needed all 16 of them too!

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

Not much smack talk going on here... My team is kickin' ass this week. I must say that this is the first time in fantasy baseball where I am happy to have the guy that's 0 for 2 with 3 walks in the lineup rather than the guy that's 3 for 5 with a HR. Walks I needed...

Welcome back, punk!!! :tu
Yes, it's a turning point day. My guys hit for sh1t all week. The only way I can catch up is through a couple pitching categories. I rotated some garbagemen in to see how they do, but it looks like a .500 week when it washes out. I'll be happy to take that as bad as my hitting line was.

JenksAnejo 04-15-2012 11:56 AM

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

Thanks man!

We both had a rough couple of days to start this week. I think we were both sub .200 BAVG at some point.

I agree it will most likely be a .500 week when it is all said and done. Want to trade me Buster Posey? :)

Haha, I don't think I would be able to part with him. He's probably my MVP since he can play 3 different positions and is good for H, AVG., Runs, 1B, 2B, and RBI's.

I'm full aware of what he's worth, you stole him off of me in the draft, ya rotten bastage. He's the only guy I missed that I cursed about. :D
How bout Posey and Ramirez for Young and busted down Carl Crawford?
Or I'd go Napoli for Young. That one's pretty heavily in your favor, although Young's had a good start and Napoli hasn't.

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

How does it effect your team when your A list starters start twice in a week?
I mean if you are winning a category already and they just add to it then that's all it does right? You'll definitely hit your forty inning a week minimum!

mkarnold1 04-21-2012 08:36 AM

Re: 2012 Fantasy Baseball For Stakes And The Troops

:r, I would be in first if not for the "you will only sacrifice wins if you don't meet the minimum innings pitched the first week" misinformation from shilala.

If it's one of your stud pitchers and you need more K's, innings, whatever go ahead and start him, usually pretty safe. If you are ahead in ERA and WHIP and don't need more K's and innings to win those categories you can bench him so as to not risk a bad outing pushing up the ERA, WHIP and L categories.

We were 9-9 when games started today. This is the same position I was in this time last week. Generally it doesn't work out the same two weeks in a row.
Regardless, it'll be a nice chunk of sticks for the troops. (Coming out of your stash.)

Okay, so I made up the keeping track thing. You guys check it out when you get a chance and let me know if I've made any mistakes. I suppose I better make a league pm about entry smokes and reporting bets for logging. I'll do that later, I need to get to work.
You'll notice there's a 5 stick discrepancy between "entries" and "sticks left to bet". I've taken off the 5 entry fee sticks and reflected them as thus.

Looks like pitching stats are pretty much tied, but you're going to need a big day offensively tomorrow to win this one. 9-5 right now in my favor with 4 tied offensive categories.
