Perez continues to impress....NOT!!! 3 more innings pitched...3 more earned runs. David Wright is still hitless in Spring Training.

I just read that Beltran has left knee tendinitis from compensating for his right knee and will be out of the line up four or five days.....here we go again (already).

He even said after the game that he felt great and that he deserved another chance to start.

This week's SI's Point After was about the Mets. Funniest line in the article, referred to them as the "New York Debts". :r

I read an article out of the post where they were saying because of everything going on with the Wilpons that they might be better off having a fire sale. They even suggested trading Pelfrey to the Yankees. :td

Pitching staff looked good today...Niese threw 4 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, Isringhausen even looked good. Offense was clicking. Wait...pinch me...it's still spring training. :D:D

MLS thinks the Wilpons would be good owners for a new team in New York. I guess they don't read the papers.

Just saw on ESPN that Johan might miss the whole season. Something tells me that Mac won't be in a good mood today.

That and the fact that we got rocked by the Braves 12-0 yesterday. :td :td

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

The Mets are on the hook for $77.5 million to Santana, and he may never win a game for them again. Think about that for a second. That makes lefty specialist Oliver Perez look like a bargain at $36 million down the drain.
This gut really ticked me off this morning. To compare Santana to Perez is an absolute joke. His whole article in the Post pretty much says that Santana's career is done. I realize he has had shoulder surgery and will prob be out for whole year, but how can you say he's done when he hasn't even started rehabbing yet. He brings up Wang's and Prior's name of people who haven't recovered from surgery, why not bring up the ones who have. Sorry, just ranting

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Oliver Perez pitches 2/3 of an inning...doesn't give up any runs and earns the win. :tu All that for $ 36 million?? :td

Chris Young continues to look good and David Wright is finally hitting the ball again. Ike Davis continues to be "en fuego".

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Mac, I read an article where Wright was saying that this spring he wanted to fall behind in the count to try to get netter at it. He was saying how he had problems with that last year so hopefully that is why his spring numbers are like that.

Beltran gets cortisone shot and hasn't even takin the field yet. This guy has had no luck. I guess it could be worse for him, he could be getting sued for $1 Billion dollars
