King Maybe, in the Junior Bender series by Timothy Hallinan. Reminiscent of Donald Westlake, about a burglar who's always stepping in it. Comical. Hallinan also writes another interesting series about an ex-pat in Bangkok: corruption, street scenes, beautiful Thai girlfriend, how can you go wrong?

I'm rereading "The Old Man and the Boy," by Robert Ruark. An excellent book about the outdoor adventures of a boy and his grandfather.

Reading for the first time before the movie comes out. :) I've only read the first three Jack Reacher books. Now I've got this one and Personal to read. Then I'll need to look at going back and picking up at book 4.

It's very good series! I've read them all and am looking forward to both the movie and the next book -- both due out about the same time :D

I'm working my way through them a couple at a time. I'm enjoying them. I liked the first movie, the second was okay but could and should have been better.

It was an ok book, but the plot felt like a rehash of other books I"ve read.

I recently bought a Kindle and am so happy with it. Wish I had bought it sooner. I'm currently reading The Habit of Rivers by Ted Leeson. It's a narrative on why many of us find trout fishing so intertwined in our lives. Most enjoyable.

Worth picking up? I've almost pulled the trigger on that one.

Re: What are you reading?

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. A Russian fairy tale set in around the year 1100. Russia officially has become Christian but the old pagan spirits still exist. A young girl, daughter of an exiled noblewoman who died giving birth to her, has inherited powers that allow her to contend with forces set against her family. Even has an evil stepmother, what more can you ask?

It's pretty good, but the style he used is different from the way he usually writes. It reads more like a children's book in that he is telling the stories in a very simple, but funny way. It took me a couple of stories to start enjoying the style. If you have been reading the Iron Druid books by Kevin Hearne, then it is good background for that series. It's a good quick read that was hard to put down. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I expected.

Just finished The Girl With All The Gifts by M.R. Carey. I love zombie and dystopian books and this didn't disappoint.

Now I am reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
