Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Ballast Point Homework Series #2. A Belgian style DIPA. I'm not usually a fan of Belgian style beers but this one is very good and well balanced for 115 IBUs and 10%.

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
So, I never thought i'd find myself saying this, but I've been digging Farmhouse and IPA style beers lately. Used to I found those two style abysmal, but now, well- I really enjoy them.
Best beer i've had in that realm? Boulevard saison brett on tap. MY GOODNESS. |
Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
My wife and I split a bottle of Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout last night. Man it was good, even for this old hop head! I have never had a bad beer from Anderson Valley.

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Haven't updated this in awhile.
Had a bunch of tastings in the past. Some tops were a 5 year of Darkness, GI Backyard Rye, GI Rare, 09 GI BCS, GI King Henry, FFF SoBro. One tasting was 28 bottles and not one stinker. Hoping to spend more time here in the future. Cheers. |

This was recommended to me by a friend. Sometimes I like a little citrus note in my beer. This, however, is not a note of citrus it's a cacophony. Way too much, IMNSHO. I won't be getting more of it. |

Went out seeking Troegs Nugget Nectar...found it and was surprised to also find Lagunitas Sucks. Have been enjoying both of them!
I'm jealous of you guys that can find Hopslam. Don't distribute to NJ, and the one spot I visit in PA got two cases that were sold in a lottery. |
Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
A very good offering from Samuel Adams that I splurged on tonight. The Samuel Adams Tetravis, a Belgian Quad aged in oak barrels and bottle conditioned with Champagne yeast. I'm getting quite a bit of dark berry notes in this, like currants, blackberries, just a lot of sweetness (not necessarily sugar sweetness) and subtle notes that are amazing. Too expensive to be a regular go to beer, but well worth it, IMHO.

Looks interesting. Sessionable means a lower ABV, which is good. I don't like getting too much of a buzz every time I drink an IPA. What is the ABV of this, BTW? |

Erdinger Hefeweizen - fantastic beer. And - for those of you driving - great with banana juice. |
Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Looks great James! I luv Hefe-weizens. I usually make them a spring and summer choice. (except Franziskaner Hefe-weizen dunkel goes year round)
But, I haven't tried Erdinger so next time I am at the store, I will look for it. Take a break from the winter stuff |
