Close, he had 7 starts in 2009. I guess the Braves think he is ok after his surgery.

I don't think it was that extensive. Not sure if it was elbow or shoulder.

Where are the Cy Young results?

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

Monday, Nov. 16 AL & NL Rookie of the Year Award
Tuesday, Nov. 17 AL Cy Young Award
Wednesday, Nov. 18 AL & NL Manager of the Year Award
Thursday, Nov. 19 NL Cy Young Award
Tuesday, Nov. 24 NL MVP Award

I don't know why they don't have the AL MVP Award listed though.

Jason Bay wins his first Silver Slugger Award with the Sox.
We will see how much more that drives up his asking price?
I seriously doubt he will be back with the Sox next season?

I really thought Coghlan deserved it...but really didn't think he would beat out JA Happ. :tu

AL Manager of the Year is Mike Scioscia manager of the Angels.

NL Manager of the Year is Jim Tracey manager of the Rockies.

Good choices on both. :tu

I thought Ron Washington was gonna get AL manager of the year. Scioscia was a good pick I guess, surprised Girardi didn't get much attention since he won a WS.

Probably because he was expected to have a good winning team. The award is also voted on before postseason starts.

And Scioscia didn't? The Angels have a mighty big payroll too.

I think the Angels had more negatives happen to them starting with the death, then having most of their starters go on the DL, and some other big position player injuries. I really never expect a Yankees Manager to ever win this award. It is difficult for any Yankee to win these awards since they have so many haters amoung the sports writers.

I can't imagine anyone paying Cora that kind of money, he wasn't even a good back up when he was on the Sox
