Exceptionally happy at how lucky I was today. A case of 2012 and then some 2011 of Saison-Brett. And a few others picked up over the last month.

Man Julian, I LOVE THAT YETI! I know it is widely available, but I have not found any around in some time,
likely owing to my lack of options and lack of travel for beer buying. But I love that beer.

I haven't had it yet since they don't distribute to NH. It is all over MA though. I did love their Fresh Hop...

Especially excited to try the Ruination 10th

Re: beer hauls

ps - all but the ruination came from letspour.com - my first order from them to try it out.
shipping was slow but the price was good.. about $100 for twelve 22 oz bottles... free shipping, $10 off for "spin the bottle" game, another 10 off for ordering twelve or more. its not like they have a phenomenal selection, but there was enough for me to give it a shot.

Thanks for the tip Julian, I was (was, haha, used em once) using halftimebeverage dot com and I went to my usual local
shop and everything was cheaper. I was bummed out, I paid more money AND had paid to ship. I was convinced I didn't
need to be ordering beer online anymore. But as usual, the way they get you is having something you want but can't find.

F'ing FACEBOOK crap. Guess I'll keep paying more, lol. Am not, will never be on the Facebook. :r

Grab some 2012 and age it. If it is anything like the 2011 it will age very well. This was the absolute last 4 bottles of 2011 I could find and I looked very hard. The difference in age is striking and very enjoyable.

I have not had the rye on rye yet. I have had the love child though and that is an excellent beer. A little cellar time wouldn't hurt it either.

While attending a S.H.I.T. herf on Sat 07/14, a bottle of Lagunitas WTF was brought out to sample around. Having a long drive home, I wasn't able to sample, but was able to sniff the bottle. What a great full body roasted aroma came from inside. Here's the site:

http://www.lagunitas.com/home.html

So, I was disappointed when BevMo did not have the WTF or any of their other Seasonals available from Lagunitas. Will have to peruse some of the small stores around.

I did find a bomber at BevMo from Figueroa Mountain Brewery to take home and sample. Its called "Figueroa Mtn Pale Ale." Basically a session beer, 4.5% alc/vol and 29 IBU. Excellent pale ale. Kind of like quaffing a bitter ale thats been taken up a notch or two. The store clerk said I'd enjoy and I did. Gonna pickup a couple more bottles of this now. Figueroa Mountain Brewery is local up in Buellton, CA (the home of split pea Anderson soup). Here's the site:

Still couldn't locate any Lagunitas bombers around town today, but I did stop back into BevMo and picked up the following:

Hurricane Deck Double IPA (Figueroa Mtn Brewery; IBU 82)

I guess i had what you would call it "pleasure" of trying this the other night. Interesting to say the least. The smell when i opened it was deffinitly bacon but more like Beggin Strips dog treat bacon as opposed to real bacon. I recommend letting it warm up a bit, it actually tastes better. Im glad i tried it but im also glad i wasnt the person who paid $14 for the bottle.

:r well i tried it. I think you're right about it warming up. Seems after a few minutes in the glass the "flavor" wasn't as strong. It wan't bad at all but def not worth the $$

I found it to be a dialed up version of their Havest Pumpkin. Nice dark amber, strong spice flavor. Alittle alcohol bite but not much considering its 8.5%. Overall not bad not amazing but not bad at all.

I tried a couple of bottles of Fat Jack recently. It's a huge improvement on Harvest Pumpkin IMO. I found Harvest Pumpkin to be overall rather bland. I'm a huge fan of pumpkin ales and I found Fat Jack to be one of the better ones available in my area. Personally, I prefer a pumpkin ale that actually tastes like it has pumpkin in it. Everyone around here seems to love Shipyard Pumpkin but to me it tastes like a mouthful of cinnamon and nutmeg. No actual pumpkin flavor.

I've heard a lot of good things about The Great Pumpkin Ale from Cambridge Brewing Company (a local brew pub that recently started bottling). I just picked up a bottle and may try it later tonight.

The Boston Globe actually has a beer blogger and he did a review of 12 pumpkin ales available in the Boston area which was a good read and some of these are widely available across the country:
