To be fair to Savard, they should have let him go before the season...I know the Hawks didn't hire Quenneville to be a "scout".

Toews (20), Kane (20), Sharp (26), Keith (25), Seabrook (23), Barker 22), Bolland (22), Versteeg (22), Ladd (22), Brouwer (23), Byfuglien (23), Havlat )27), and even Campbell at 29....the Hawks have built quite a foundation the last couple years.

But I still don't wanna face the Sharks in the playoffs right now! :r

Character win for the Hawks, down 3-0, they win it 5-4 on OT.

Big goals two nights in a row for Ben Eager, 2 goals for Sharp, and Bolland is playing some great hockey. Might actually get to see a playoff series in Chicago this season. :)

How about some props for the Original Six? :tu

Boston, New York Rangers and Montreal 1-2-5 in the East, and Toronto, who was expected to be a doormat, only 1 game below .500.

Detroit and Chicago 2-4 in the West.

I think it is great for the NHL, and for fans of the O-6. :D

Yeah, it was a big tribute night in Toronto as well, for Wendel Clark....Hawks were the spoilers just like the B's. :)

That was a hard game to watch at first. They didn't play well in the first period but they played hard and didn't give up. Go hawks.

This year's team has a lot of character....I think they could make a run at home ice advantage for the first round by being 4th in the Conference....but I still see Detroit taking the Division.

A lot of excellent young players, but with all of the 5 / 6 million dollar 5-10 year contracts kicking around, will the Hawks be able to keep everyone? Probably not, but here's hoping they keep the right ones ;) I love watching young up and comming teams like Chicago, Montreal, and Phoenix. Yes, I know, PHoenix has a ways to go, but still, they should be there in a year or two.

Go Canucks!!!

Exactly....what happens when Toews and Kane are done with the first contracts, and want their due? An excellent point, but not a worry until next year at least.

The Hawks could free up $10 Million+ by dumping Sopel, Byfuglien, and trading one of their goalies (preferably Huet at this point) and bringing up either of the excellent prospects (Crawford or Mitti) from the Icehogs.

They sure handled the Wings. ;)

The Hawks have lost 3 straight to end the road trip after winning the first 3 (7 points total in 6 games). I will be sitting on the glass behind the Hawks net on Wednesday, hopefully they will start a new win streak then.

I used to think Avery was just misunderstood and that he did most things just for publicity, but the more stories I hear about him the more I have to agree with Tom. He is a lot more talented than most give him credit for, but he has some major mental problems and is a cancer to most locker rooms it seems. Except for the Rangers. Can't figure that one out. Nonetheless I am so thankful the Kings got rid of him.

They look good, Paul, though they let the Lightning slip back into the game tonight.

Anyone see Johnny Toews goal against the Wings Saturday night? Absolutely amazing!

That was a great goal. Incredible moves even if it was against a forward. Don't know if it was goal of the year type stuff, but definitely amazing.

:tpd:Nice move, but it looked like lazy defense reaching with a stick instead of playing the body helped.

That's what happens with a forward playing D. Although I think Toews knew it was a forward and took advantage of it with that move. Very smart.

Isles Drop another to Philly. I watched the game on NASN last night and it was a great game with their third goalie in net so I am not to pissed. At least they played with a lot of heart. I can't help but think what could have been if "Mad Mike" Milbury hadn't completely ruined this team. I look arounfd the league and see so many fantastic players that started or played early in thier career on the Island. Oh well maybe we are finally headed in the right direction.
