It was clean...just one of those "hockey" things.

I am amazed that more guy's are not seriously injured in hockey. I can't wait to get up to a Adirondack Phantoms game this season.

The Albany River Rats are closer but they suck real bad and the security staff are d!cks. Glens Falls Civic Center is a great little arena. Not a bad seat in the house. You should take a road trip. :D

Its always amazed me seattle has no team. Figured they would at some point. Wouldnt mind seeing a team go to winnipeg.

Phoenix unfortunatley started out all wrong. Having gone to games in the old building you would know why.
In the old building if you sat on the end bowl you would have to watch the game on the jumbo tron when they came down to the end as the way the stands were set up you were literaly over the action. The league wants to keep the team there so it will be interesting to see what they do.

Bye Wayne. Guess you can officially call his initial coaching stint a failure. Then again he wasnt exactly given a blank check or much to work with.

Biggest rumor in Chicago doesn't involve the Hawks, but their AHL team, the Wolves:

Chris Chelios tmay sign with the AHL's Chicago Wolves if he is unsuccessful in landing an NHL contract in the next week.

At 47 years of age it appears the chances of him signing an NHL deal is slim at best.

The Wolves opened up camp last week and there is a very strong chance Chelios arrives shortly thereafter. It makes sense for the veteran D-man to stay in Chicago where he's surrounded by family including his son who plays for the the Chicago Steel in the USHL.

That would be cool if it goes through. The Wolves have signed some older players in the past.

I am really concerned over how this European trip is going to effect their start.

That being said, the Pens had a crappy start after their trip last year, but turned it around to win the Cup.

I hope Hossa's November return isn't overly optimistic, and that Huet can live up to his contract.

What are your thoughts, Nate?

Honestly, I think we will be fine. I think we are home for all but 5 games in October, so I hope for a good start. I really don’t know what to think about the games in Finland though. Only time will tell how it will affect the young guys. When is Burish gonna be back, or is he at all?

icehog3 09-27-2009 08:17 PM

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

Burish is out for the season...says he could be back for the playoffs, but I would wonder if he would be in any kind of shape for the playoffs after 6+ months off the ice.

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

I don't think the trip overseas. I think McDounough gives more thought to publicity than actual hockey performance (left over from his time with the Cubs:r).
