I'm only a quarter of the way through the first book but I find I can't put it down. I'm not a big reader so that is saying something. I like fantasy books and so far this one is really good. |

Just finished microcosm: E. coli and the New Science of Life
by Carl Zimmer Excellent read by a gifted science writer. Discusses many issues of microbiology/genetics and relates it to general biology. The book focuses specifically on E Coli and the many biological discoveries that have resulted from its study. Anyone with an amatuer interest in biology might like the author's blog |

Finally finished Dominion, started "mere Christianity" by C S Lewis and also "Forest Laird" by Jack Whyte. The latter was sent to me from Canada, as it is not yet in print here in the US. Like most of Whyte's writting, I can't put it down, excellent. Lewis, on the other hand, is a bit of a tough read. Good though. |
