Seth is there areas at CCb that you can enjoy a cigar and a beer? Even though I'll miss the Hunaphu release by a few days I think I will still try and make a visit to the brewery.

Hmmmm, that is an interesting question, thinking back on it I have only been to the brewery for special releases when they had stuff set up outside (when they absolutely do allow smoking - I had a cigar at the end of Hunahpu last year).

I'm not sure if during normal operation they have seating outside or not. If they do, I'm sure you can smoke, I just don't know if they have outside seating normally (but I imagine they do).

Long story short, I will get an answer for you soon. :tu

Got a hold of one of my stores and they were doubtful they would ever get in GI Coffee Stout or Bramble Rye. One down a few more to check out.

Has anyone tried any of the 3 Floyd's Creeper Doppelbock or Moloko Milk Stout? I'm looking at a few bottles on Ebay and wanted to know if anyone thinks they are worth obtaining at $40 & $25 respectively.

Thanks guys! I've bought so much beer lately because of T.G and ChicagoWhiteSox its not even funny :D

I want to say I've had the Creeper at 3F's once (trying to remember). Moloko is a pretty good milk stout on of my favs. One time traveling back and forth from MI to WI I stopped at 3F's and tried a bourbon barrel aged Moloko and it was incredible. I tried to get a growler filled but they wouldn't sell one, just on tap.

You really need to make a trip east of AZ Tyr. :r

Creeper was a great beer. I bought some at pub last January.. Opened it around July I think. Held up fine, I'd imagine it's still drinking good. Moloko is also good, the label is one of my favs:r Moloko is an August release, and I've never had it very old, so look around for tasting notes on older bottles before you buy that one.

Yeah, it's a 2 sixer limit on this stuff for me. Think it was 17 bucks per last year.

awsmith4 02-11-2012 01:48 PM

Re: beer hauls

As expensive as it is, I paid about $17 a sixer, its only $2 more than a lot of other Bell's products. And personally I don't mind paying that much when I pay upwards of $20 for some of the special releases that come in 750ml bottles.

Got an opportunity to tour Thomas Creek Brewery in Greenville, SC yesterday. It's a relatively small micro-brew facility, they put out 6,000 barrels last year, but it was awesome. We had several samples but my favorite was their Belgian-Style Imperial Porter: Conduplico :dr Plus they had a great deal on 'em, 2 750 ml bottles for $10! I picked up four of them and also swung by a local beer exchange and got some other treats. The Conduplico is 4th from the left:

Just picked up a bomber of Firestone Double Jack IPA. It was a toss up between this and Great Divide Hercules Double IPA. There were only 2 of these left so i went with the Double Jack.

I had a bomber of this and the Union Jack a few weeks ago and thought they were both fantastic! I wish they would distribute to MN. Then again, there are a ton of CA breweries that I wish would distribute to MN.

By a small margin. Hopslam is very unique because of the honey. Dreadnaught or Arctic Panzer may be 2 and 3 for me. Double Trouble is also up there.

Honestly Bill, I'd take a fresh pour of Dreadnaught at the Three Floyds pub over Hopslam any day of the week. I love FFF's brewpub.

No Bell's - I think the closest was PA or something when I looked before.
No Founders in NH. Apparently in VT which is just a few miles away but I haven't figured out where to get it yet.
:(

To make myself feel better I was looking at Binnys, hoping to see that they didn't have some of the breweries closer to here like Smuttynose or Clown Shoes. But no such luck, they have it all :gary

Well, they don't have Rock Art. I've only had the Vermonster - it was pretty good, not the best thing ever though.
