DUMP AND CRASH, HAWKS! :D

Excellent analysis, Admiral... I think you are dead on. The skill of the Red Wings in the neutral zone necessitates the dump and crash. Hope the Hawks can execute tonight... you know I am pulling for Ladd. :D

Thanks Joe....I think the Hawks know it is the only way they can win. Doesn't mean they will win, just will give them a chance. Hopefully the skill players listen to Q and don't try to finesse a team that they cannot out-finesse. :)

1-1 after one period. Almost a replay of game one 1st period. Now we will see if the Wings can turn it up a notch like last game.

What a great goal to end the game. He had no chance with the 3-1.

No chance at all. Samuelson just buried it.

Predicted the Hawks would make it tighter. That was to tight. Osgood came up huge in this game.

Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread

Osgood is definately the MVP for the Wings.

If it comes down to Canes Wings I gotta go with Wings and support Jr. He has been a Wing fan his entire life.

Lot of hockey left before we get to that point!

Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread

Campbell made a poor play that led to the 3-1 that won the game for Detroit. Campbell is defending the backhand, cross-the-blue-line pass saying "I would do it again 100 times...I can make that play."

What an asswipe....maybe he can make it again Friday and Sunday so the Hawks can get swept.

Congrats to the Wings for capitalizing on their opportunities ......

Got a ticket for Game 3 in Chicago....hoping to bring them a little "Hog Luck", haven't been to a loss at the U.C. yet this season. :)

In all honesty, I would have paid $200 for a $65 seat....Karma just brought me good luck this time. :)

Go Canes! Want them to stretch that series out if not win outright. Sure hope Cole and Ruutu can play. Tough enough order even with them in the lineup.

Only good thing that happened tonight was Ovie got player of the year.

I wonder if jackoff asked the refs to make an announcement to stop throwing hats on the ice after Malkins hat trick? :hm

7-4. So much for Ward and his steller goaltending.

You guys see Malkins third goal? That was just f'ing sick! One of the top shots of the year in my book.

Congrats on the win Kevin!

Sorry Joe. :(

GO WINGS!!

Yeah. Canes looked good in the first period but couldn't finish. Malkin had our number.

Oh, well. I can't make game 3 but will be at the RBC for game 4 on Tuesday. Go Canes!!!

btw--got some great winnings from ahbroody on our bruins-canes duel. Will post a pic when I can :tu

looks to me like it may be Wings/Pens final again. Except this time we have Hossa. I'm sure that losing their 2nd or 3rd best player (althought best in last years finals) to the Wings won't hurt their chances...;)

I generally blame Tom for most things....including world hunger and the clap.

It was a great game last nite no matter who you were rooting for. Both teams played their heart out and the mixture of skill, speed, pure aggression and heart was evident.

Good win Tom. But that's the last one you guys get :D

I found periods 1, 2 and overtime good, but period 3 was a snoozefest imo - decent game but not awesome like the other 2

I have nothing to do with World hunger, Dustin. ;) :r

A win tomorrow would make it a best of three....but Havlay and Khabibulin look to both be out. I can onloy hope Pavel's foot still hurts, and Nik gets some gonnoreah tonight. :r

Ouch, I hope Havlat is going to be ok. He played so well this season and stayed healthy for most of it.

Hawks website says Coach Q is optomistic that Havlat will play Sunday. Hard to believe.

I am not worried. I think we broke khabibulin though there is no coming back from what happen the second period
