Jumbo Joe will have a grat year he sucks when it's on the line and he has to be one of the laziest people on the Ice I ever saw. Lets see how good he does in the playoffs this year as well. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
that we shall. My point is and was the got a proven goal scorer for a unproven. That was not really directed at you though. I just lumped yours in because it was in the same vein. I was trying to point that many teams make trades that end up not being the best. I don't think it was a horrible trade and I think both the sens and b's have made worse in recent time.
Now back on track. WOW 2 games down 2 2oad team wins. Strong possibility of Wings win, and you never know if my Sharks will fail to show up yet again. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Nice way to start a series. :banger
Boucher looked pretty good tonight, and the D played especially well in front of him. One of the best games I saw Coburn play all year. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Philly definitely stepped it up to playoff level hockey tonight. They were patient and smart...not really qualities they're know for!

Cheechoo was a bust but they didn't want him, they were basically forced to take him as part of the deal so they could get rid of Heatley. At least they got Michalek out of the deal, if not for his injury he probably would have gotten 30 goals this year. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
YES!
Nice way to start the series for the Avs.... |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
yay sens!
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
4 great games. Craig gets a win in SJ, Sens beat Sid the Squid, Detroit loses and Philly takes advantage of their opportunities. Got to see all 4 games, smoked some cigars...life is good.

Rob Blake should be on AVS payroll. His Penalty in the second resulted in the AVS first goal and Stewarts goal went in off his skate for the winner. I have been ripping on Blake for months. He takes penalties in almost every game and they always seem to result in PP goals. OOO and go YOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im loving that series. I know many canucks and some none canucks dont think hockey belongs in AZ, but having been to a few games there I think its good for the area. Agreed Tom watched the Pens Sens, the end of the Jersey game and a lot of the PHX game. Great hockey today. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
I love the playoffs, Mike! :wo
Better luck to the Sharks on Friday, unless Anderson is in net. ;) |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
I'm happy the Sens won :)
I'm happy the Sharks lost :) Furious that the Wings PK allowed 3 goals on 4 chances :c Even more furious that the Wings PP went 1 for 6 :c  |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Getting ready to settle in for night #2 of playoff hockey. :wo
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

There are no better playoffs then the N H L |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Two O.T. games, I love the playoffs.
Hawks first game tomorrow night, let's go Blackhawks! :wo |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Awesome night 1 upset and as you said 2 OT games.
Wondering if the Capitals goaltending will be there achilles. Good luck to the Hawks tomorrow. The Sharks are definetly going to be gripping the sticks tomorrow night. Hoping for a win |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Red Wings tonight :wo
Let's go Red Wings!! :banger |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Man tough loss. They Peppered Miller all second period but only the one goal:bh. The Sabers did a decent job of allowing Miller to see the puck alot and he came up big when he had to. Tuukka did a great job for first time in the playoffs if not for him that game would have been over in the first.
Well we got the Matinee on Saturday, noon EST on NBC |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
exciting OT game in Washington last night, although I'd like to see the Capitols win the series.
as far as tonight, GO SENS! |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
5 games tonight, what a night for hockey!
OK, so I can watch the 1st and part of the 2nd on the Sens-Pens before the Hawks game starts. Or I can watch part of the Sens-Pens and part of the Flyers-Devils before the Hawks game starts. Then I can TiVo the beginning of the Wings-Coyotes and watch it in full after the Hawks game ends. But wait, the Sharks-Avs are on too.... What's a hockey fan to do?? :r |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Today is a big day...a very big day.
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
GO AVS!!!
Very excited for the evening to unfold.... |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
3 hours until the first puck drop of the night. :ih :wo

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

Watching the Jersey Philly game in the car. OOOOOooooo man is it a good one. Lot of Philly fans in the crowd. You can hear a very loud response when Philly scores.

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Devils WON!!!!!:banger:banger:banger:banger
What a game. I cant believe how intense this game was! |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Flyers/Devils was quite a game. If the Flyers can continue to play as disciplined as they have the first two games, I think they can pull the series off....of course Boucher will have to keep playing well too.
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Hawks join the Caps, Wings and Sharks with a game 1 loss.
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
MAN the Wings Yotes is nuts back and forth. 3 to 3 watching it and the Sharks tough staying with either.
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
The Pit game tonight was rough. So glad that they won though! Got to enjoy the game and smoke at the same time. Goood times.

The pace of this DET-PHX game is just insane...2nd intermission now.
COL-SJ is crazy back and forth too. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
yup sharks avs 4 to 4. yotes wings 4 to 4.
Dont think the Sharks will get far this year, but who cares with playoffs like this who can complain. Man I love hockey playoffs. My heart rate goes up watching a game I have no horse in. I never experience that with any other sport. trully the Wild Wild West |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
Sharks tie it up with 32 seconds left...O.T. I love this game. :ih
|
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

Wings win 7-4 :wo I couldn't believe the action in this game. I'm looking for the Wings to really takeover the series Sunday at the Joe. We at least tightened up the PK allowing no goals on 4 PP chances for PHX. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
So the Hawks lose their first game and are going to have an interesting series, and the Wings win 1 of 2 and are going to "take over"?
We shall see. ;) |

The AVS failed to ice the game with a 5 on 3 PP late in the 3rd. Shots were 52 to 22 in favor of the Sharks. The Sharks played physical, and if the series goes deep the story will be goaltending. The Avs are faster, but the Sharks are bigger and stronger. The Avs have also had some funky goals. The game winner in game 1 and the first goal in this game which went off Blakes stick then vlassics throat. I really want to see what happens in game 3. |
Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
well I guess depending on how you look at it they gave it away as they failed to close the game out on a horrible night by nabokov. I hope the Sharks use this win as momentum as it was a very emotional win. Pavelskis clutch goal to send it to OT. I think the Seto cal in the 3rd was crap though and the goal should have counted. That said the end result was more of an emotional high for the Sharks.
I'm pulling for your Hawks Tom. After the Sharks get elliminated they will be who I pull for |

Game two is always very pivotal in playoff series. The Yotes clearly tried to go punch for punch with the Wingsan and that didn't go so well for them. I think the Coyotes are going to lose a lot of confidence going to the Joe and trying to win. A lot of the Coyotes energy came from their home crowd and their emotions of being in the playoffs for the first time since 2002. That energy will be sucked out of them at Joe Louis. Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread
While a loss can never be "reassuring", I watched the Hawks play 84 games this season. I think Q and the coaching staff will make adjustments to counteract the Preds neutral zone trap and 2 man forecheck. I look for a different team tomorrow.
While I picked the Wings to win the series before it started, I hardly think it's time to stick a fork in the Coyotes. Nabokov will have to be a LOT better in Colorado if the Sharks are to win their series. |

As to the B's game miller lost for the first time after leading going into the 3rd in 31 games and Vanek is likely out on a suspect play. I could say its over, but that would be silly now wouldnt it. Unlike some who think you can call any of these series after 2 games or worse yet 1! game already I am going to wait as I think all these series can go the distance. I always heard game three was the big one as the first 2 are usually a feeling out process, but I guess thats old school. I have only been watching hockey since I was a kid though. I mean the Pens were down 0-2 in 2 series last year and oooooooooo wait maybe we shouldnt bring that up. Based on some logic both those series should have been over I mean they were down 0-2 in 2 seperate series they should have just quit. I am sure they were mesmerized walking into the other teams barn down 0-2. Or maybe they went in and punched them in the mouth. I would panic just yet Tom. Just like the Avs had a better game plan than the Sharks in game one the Preds did the Hawks. The Hawks are much deeper and skilled and faster than the Preds. I think you may just be okay. As for my Sharks I like that they clawed back in and won despite Nabokov being less valuable then a shootertudor in net at times, but I am not sold. Jumbo silenced some crittics with 2 assists last night and secondary scoring won the day. If Nabokov shows up on sunday and the Sharks keep up the hitting and shots they have a chance. I would never call any of these series though as they are so back and forth. |
