That was a terrible game for the Habs. They were outshot 41 to 20 and spent half the game in the penalty box.:c :D

I was happy for him. he really seems like a great kid.

He, Kane, Sharp and Havlat are firing on all cylinders...Hawks look for real right now. :tu

Tom, how do the Hawks look for Wednesday night against the Bruins? The B's seem to have hit their stride for the first time in recent human memory. Hope they keep it up.

The Hawks are rolling at home, Paul, 6-0-2, and they are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. Looks like Boston is tough on the road, so it should be a great game. :D

Wings blew one today vs the Penguins. You can't give up 4 goals in the 3rd and still expect to win.

Really entertaining column by John Buccigross talking about how the AC/DC album "Back in Black" is the NHL's Official Soundtrack. Good read.

Former Minnesota Golden Gopher Blake Wheeler sure was a nice pickup for Boston so far this year.

Sure looks good. In general Boston teams have done well with players from Minnesota although the jury is still out on Maroney, looks like he should be on Dancing with the Stars when he approaches the line.

That's not how he ran the ball in Minnesota. He hit the line like it had just beaten up his mom.

What a goaltending exhibition by Taylor and Khabibulin last night. Great game to watch even if the Hawks only took a point.

You have to like the way the are both able to use all of the young talent. I really like that both teams have seemed to embrace kids who have played college hockey. There is a whole lot of talent coming out of the NCAA nowadays.

Well, I'm hoping you have a disappointing evening, with all due respect!! :bx I'll be looking for you from my tv.
I have to say I don't have a lot of confidence going into this one. My Blues haven't won a game this month :bh and your Hawks have only lost one in OT.
I guess the streak on both sides has to stop at some point. Hopefully tonight!!! :ih

St Louis has had a tough start, though Captain Keith has started to look good. McDonald and Boyes give them a chance every night, and Kariya has always been a Hawk killer. Hopefully Queneville will start Khabibulin tonight, but we shall see.

I am sitting in the nosebleeds tonight, so I don't know if I will get the TV time like last season. I will be wearing my black Rockford Icehogs jersey, so if I do get on, you will know it is me! :r

From FOX Sports:

Quote:

Barry Melrose's return to the NHL as coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning lasted 16 games.

The former television anaylst was fired Friday, less than five months after he left the booth to coach a team that finished with the league's worst record last season. Assistant Rick Tocchet was promoted to interim head coach

I'm not terribly too surprised about him getting the axe already, but it is a bit of a disappointment.

About a month before the season started I ran into him at a cigar bar in Boston. Didn't really get a chance to talk at length, but he was excited and looking forward to coaching again.

I'm curious to see how long it takes ESPN to sign him as a commentator again... I seem to remember Eddie O getting back on VS pretty quickly after the Pens fired him.

None necessary, it was a great game live! Hawks salvage a point after playing 10 of the worst minutes of the season to start the game. Penalties in OT are killers, 4 on 3 creates too much open ice and are so much tougher to defend than 5 on 4s.

Seeing Byfuglien thump Keith Tkachuk was worth the price of admission alone...Captain Keith has really become quite the jag in his later years. :r

Pat Foley had to cut off the ovation Savard received from the United Center crowd when he was introduced during the Pilote / Magnuson ceremony so the game could proceed. It was a wonderful moment for Savard

The Sharks look awesome this season, size AND speed are a lethal combination.

Hawks got back on the winning track tonight, and Johnny Toews got in a fight. http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...hog3/brawl.gif

The Hawks need to rethink their desire to trade Khabibulin, he is definitely their best goalie at this point.

I like the Hawks this year, a lot of nice young talent to build on.

I thought they were quick to fire Savard but the team really looks good under Quenneville.
