Nolan Ryan would be my #1 power pitcher followed by Randy then Clemens.

Maddux was definately one of the best pitchers pitcher.

Anyone see what happend to the Giants pitcher last night? Martinez got hit in the head by a line drive. Wow, just saw it on sportscenter, it looked bad.

I saw it on Sportscenter late last night. It looked pretty bad, but he did walk off. The guy who hit him, Mike Cameron, was pretty shook up.

I remember when Mussina got hit in the face. He said it took the rest of the season before he stopped flinching.

Looks like the tarp's about to come off the field in Atlanta. Maybe they'll get this one in tonight.

EDIT: Tarp is not coming off, but cleanup is underway.

With all that money, it's about time. I still can't picture Texiera in a Yankee uniform. Just doesn't seem right. Not sure why.

Nah, I wasn't surprised by the start. If you look at Tex and Sabathia's numbers previously both are slow starters in April. Tex is actually heating up much earlier than I thought he would to be honest.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but as long as they finish ahead of the RedSox, then I'm ok w/ 'em. I am a Texiera fan. He would have made a good Red (coulda replaced Griffey and Dunn's bat).

You have Joey Votto, he's gonna be just as good as Tex!

A-Gon hasn't done anything yet, and McDonald is a career minor leaguer.
I'm putting my money on Phillips, Votto, EE, Bruce, Tavaras, and the top 4 in the pitching rotation.

Only used it today, but no blackouts so far. I don't think they black out the radio feed, but I could be wrong. I caught the Reds/Pirates game, Boston/Anaheim game, Atlanta/Washington game, and the Cubs/Brewers game all today with no problem. I cut the sound off the tv for the Boston game and the Atlanta game and listened to the radio.

I need to get myself a small radio to listen when I an not near a tv. We have a local station that has the Yankees games on.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

No radio stations in my area have MLB games. I do get all the NASCAR races on the radio though. I'd rather pay the 14.95 a yr for the radio broadcast verses the $70+ and have to deal w/ constant blackouts. Audio and the Gameday pitch by pitch coverage go great together.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

I figured a way to get around the blackouts if I really wanted it bad enough. I would have my brother in Indiana pay for it using his address and then use an internet IP redirect to get around the local IP block. Just isn't worth all the trouble though.

But the networks only are allowed an allotted amount of time per game. there were multiple games that I was not able to see the end of due to NFL pulling the plug on them. You would think that if CBS or FOX carries a game, then they would be able to carry it for its entirety.

Leaving Liriano in was huge mistake. I wasn't impressed with him last fall and now I know why.

Fun game so far in KC. Back and forth in the bad weather.

On a side note, did anybody else see that douchbag play Beckett made in the BoSox/Angels game? WTF was Beckett thinking throwing at Abreu's head when he stepped out of the box? And why wasn't that schmuck ejected from the game
