Make that 3rd. -(P

My, how the tone of this thread has changed since it was begun. :D

To my two favorite Liverpool supporters: January transfer window is almost upon us. What should your lot do to right the ship?

You know, to be fair to Liverpool -- though I don't know why -- had it been anyone besides an unbeatable David de Gea in goal yesterday, the scoreline might've been very different. Not to mention, we scored two good goals. Not three. Had Sterling managed to convert one of his many chances, it would've changed the whole face of the match. Who knows what might have happened then? Only, that's not how it happened, is it.

:hy

Re: EPL 2014/2015 banter!!

Very true, David. de Gea was superb. Mata's goal should not have counted. But to be fair, a very difficult call for the AR.
And you are correct. Had Sterling converted, the match might have ended differently. But that is the way the ball bounces.

What do we need?
Goals. Losing S & S is virtually impossible to overcome. Balotelli has been a bust. Lambert hasn't shown much but hasn't played much. Lallana shows some spark but has been inconsistent.
And the defense is horrendous. Last year, the goals from S & S masked the defensive woes. This year, it's a glaring weakness. Build from the back, I say.

Re: EPL 2014/2015 banter!!

Mignolet is utter crap!! Lambert, Allen, Johnson and Borini out maybe Markovic too but he's inly 20 and shows great promise!! I'll support BR, but to be honest he should be sacked- I'd love to see Klopp come in and take over. We need a good young midfielder, two proven strikers and a new goal keeper (Valdez or Petr Chech) Suarez is unreplaceable! And the crap we got Doesn't cut it!! DeGea had a great game yesterday!! That save he had on Balotelli was the icing on the cake.

Re: EPL 2014/2015 banter!!

I disagree with your assessment of Mignolet. Petr Cech? Really??? He looks good because of the defense in front of him. Probably why you don't like Mignolet. Lousy back Line.
Lambert hasn't had enough playing time.
Never been a fan of Allen.
I like Johnson.
Borini? Not so much.
Balotelli is a bust.

The injury to Sturridge hurt bad.

We could get Chech at a good price and I don't know why Chealsea got Curtois I would rather have Chech at goal. One thing we both agree on Peter is that back pass Allen must go, I have never liked him, Lambert doesn't do it for me either, we need top quality strikers. What are your thoughts on Lovren? I'm kind of torn on him. I wish we kept Dagger!

Peter, what are your thoughts on Brendan Rodgers?

ESPN's Craig Burley says Brendan Rodgers, "May have three games to salvage his job." Your club's next three are Bournemouth away in the League Cup tomorrow, then Arsenal (6th) at home, then Burnley (17th) away. Bournemouth, by the way, are currently top of the Championship. How do you see these three fixtures going?

I know I don't have to point out to you and Gabe that this is Liverpool's worst league start in fifty years. Now there's talk of "disharmony" in the dressing room. Is it all the fault of the manager?

:po

We definitely need top quality defense, too.
I still think Lambert hasn't had a chance to get in a groove.
From the start, the Balotelli gamble was going to be a boom or bust.
Lovren is doing fine. Agger needed to go.

Hard to say what goes on in the dressing room.
As for Rodgers, last year he's a genius. This year, he's the problem.
The goal production last year masked the defensive weakness. Without the goals, it's now in the spotlight.

There are some glaring holes in the squad and I imagine Rodgers is in part responsible for that. I think with some better quality players, he's a fine manager.

Re: EPL 2014/2015 banter!!

Suarez and Sturridge were the answer last year, who knows he may come back, not scoring one goal in league play this year, and Torres is playing like **** in Milan. Both will be welcomed back. I really hope we get Klopp, and Ian Ayre needs to be dumped as well!!

I'm a Floyd fan as well and, they were Liverpool fans or at least inspired by them when they made this.. Which happens to be one of my favorite songs and is EPL related, just about the 5 minute mark!!

I don't even need to click that link. I know exactly where it will go. Fearless is a great song. It's just a little long. Should be cut about the five minute mark!!

Hey, so we three can't agree on which football club is the greatest in the world, but we do have Pink Floyd and cigars in common. I suppose that means you're not ALL bad. You guys just follow the wrong club.

Finally playing like a team!! Saw great movement, hopefully we get a decent GK and Striker in January and March to the top 4, winning Europa would be nice too!
