Re: ISO: Made in the USA cutters

Finding manufactured products made in america are more rare than hen's teeth. So many US industries that use to make their products here in the states are gone. Many industries are pretty much gone forever. The company I work for makes outerwear. We tried to find a factory in America that could make hunting garments for us to our specifications and there were none. There were a few small "job shops" that had a few sewing machines, but they're way to small to take on an order for 6,000 hunting parkas.

Reality sucks. :(

There are no cotton textile factories, or any hemp processing plants left in America.

We import 100% of it now. How pathetic......

I hope we don't live to regret it. So many things we need are now made off-shore that if a major war breaks out and the countries that are making things for us decide not go make them anymore, we are in a heep of trouble!

If this thread goes any more political, it will go the way of the hemp processing plants. ;)

I don't know that the subject is political. The siphoning of American companies to off-shore has been going on since the end of WWII. Both major political party voted to allow it to happen, so the subject is apolitical. Both parties are stupid.

Anyway, the subject of American made came up in this thread. I'd rather talk about cigars. -(P

Basically if you ever mention the words "parties" "stupid" "political" you can bet that will get a thread locked. Anything remotely political we keep off these forums. If you have the hunch it could go in that direction even, just don't post it.

While the discussion may not be political at the moment, it is becoming perilously close. All he did was post a reminder that if it were to drift that way, the thread would be closed. The collective experience of the admins here have a pretty good feel for threads that teeter on the edge. This happens to be one of them.

speak delicately about everything, and only erred a bit in hoping to head off the logical next
step in cutter talk.
I think that is where someone might have read it 'wrong'. But they did in fact read it wrong.
I think they look down and see 6-8 posts and that very item colors their impressions of the
question being asked. A lot of people come in and get rowdy from post 1 and never think to
get acquainted first, and that likely led to some perceived tone that was not really there.
Oh Ceee-A we stand on guard for thee, I guess. :)

Well...til he got all "NO, YOU are" and left the thread, likely forever, lol.

Do I really have to get involved again?

Last chance guys. And please don't PM me with "he started it" or "he revived it". Just learn let it go.
