:tu

I've always loved reading things like this. It is amazing what the mind can process. I'm a bit a grammar Nazi myself. I drive my wife crazy because I'm forever correcting the spelling and grammar of her emails and text messages. I hate seeing l8tr, u, or any other "text" words. Typing Y-O-U isn't that much more work that just U.

Irregardless is legitimate..regardless means "without regard to" so irregardless means"Not without regard to"...do the math...there is a paperback book titled "Eats,Shoots, and Leaves",you will enjoy,on the cover is a Panda with a gun...the book is about the incorrect use of punctuation and syntax,,,,you will love it...

I had a girlfriend who always seemed to find a way to mess up an idiom. Ex. "I'm in the boat right next to you."

According to Bryan A. Garner's "The Oxford Dictionary of American Usage and Style"...

Irregardless, a semiliterate Portmanteau Word from irrespective and regardless, should have been stamped out long ago. But it's common enough in speech that it has found its way into all manner of print sources--e.g.: "Irregardless of the Big Ten outcome, Knight said he is gratified with IU's improvement over last season" (Louisville Courier-J.). Althought this widely scorned NONWORD seems unlikely to spread much more than it already has, careful users of language must continually swat it when they encounter it.

I don't care if people use it, it's a stupid word.

from wiki:

The prefix ir- means 'not' (as it does with irrespective), and the suffix -less means 'without,' irregardless is a double negative."[1] According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Irregardless was first acknowledged in 1912 by the Wentworth American Dialect Dictionary as originating from western Indiana. Barely a decade later, the usage dispute over irregardless was such that, in 1923, Literary Digest published an article titled "Is There Such a Word as Irregardless in the English Language?"[2]

Here is another common one: "The article said....".
