And his ugliness in that picture may be in some part because of that red outfit he is wearing :fu

Agreed about him and JR. That was when I discovered hockey as a child. The Hawks were my favorite team as a child because of Cheli and JR. I loved having JR on the Sharks. Definetly hurt when I saw Cheli put on that horrid red uniform. :r

Very brutal :td At least Chicago has a playoff spot locked in though :tu

Nashville beat Phoenix in a shootout moving them to the 5th seed. Calgary lost putting them 4 points behind the 8th seeded Wings :) Still only 4 points separate the 8th seed from the 5th.

There is talk of the Hawks sending Huet to the minors to get another look at Corey Crawford to back up Niemi...I am all for that.

I am rooting for the Wings to move up to 5th...for my own reasons. :r

Well they are 4 out with 2 games in hand, but based on win differential they still wont get 5th in a tie as he preds have 6 more regulation wins so they will need to surpass them in points out right.

I am hoping the Sharks avoid them as they have become red hot of late. Dont think it will carry them all the way to the cup, but definetly think they can make some noise in the playoffs and upset someone for sure. I still think they are a 7 seed, but if everyone else keeps losing and they stay hot they could make it.

Nice to see the Sharks redeem themselves with a shutout over the Stars after the humiliating loss to them last week. Nabby played very strong to get the shutout, but definetly got lucky a few times.

agreed. If the sharks have taught me one thing about hockey it's reg season succes or hot streak means little in the post season. It can be good, but nothing is a sure thing. Upsets happen all the time in hockey

sorry Shawn. I do like having the flames in the post season. The city goes all out and so do the fans. It seems like one of the most intense cities to play in post season with all the red.

His first shootout attempt of his career and gets the winner. I will take it :wo Howard and Rinne were making some great saves in that shootout. Looking forward to NSH coming to the Joe on Saturday.

Next Two Game are gonna be tough for the B's Buffalo and New Jersey.
They have 2 games in hand over The Habs and the Flyers. If they can win those games they could move into 6th place.

Let's Go Bruins

Flyers finally showed a pulse last night against the Devils (who they've inexplicably owned this year). Hopefully it's a sign of things to come, but I'm not holding my breath.

Their back-up goalie last night has been in the organization (and the NHL for that matter) since last week. He signed right out of college (UMass - Lowell). Crazy year for Flyers netminders.

joel that seems like the flyers issue for years. I really thought they were the team to beat this year, but goaltending again hurt them.

sharks have won 4 straight and opened up a little lead over 1st. Not sure it will hold, but with 6 games left it's nice to see.

Yes...it gets very frustrating. Arguably back to Hextall, or more realistically all the way back to Pelle Lindbergh (sp?).

Looks like they may be joining the Kings unless somebody finds that spark. I didn't wait 8 years to be swept in the first round. And that's if they even make it, which, unbelievably, is not a foregone conclusion. And tonight they face a team they haven't beaten in almost two years.

Ahbroody 03-31-2010 01:17 AM

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

man if you would have told me most of the west would implode after the Olympics I would have taken that bet.

Sharks have a chance to put a really sold grip on 1st place if they can win tomorrow. It will be interesting if the Kings end up in 8th and the Sharks in 1st as the Kings really had the Sharks number this year. That said the Kings will seed higher.

Looking at the schedules for April. This is not all the games, but the big factors.
Wings have 3 against the jackets
Kings have 3 against the ducks
Avalanche play the sharks, hawks, and canucks
Preds play Wings, Yotes, and Blues x2

I can see Wings getting up to 5th as their schedule is pretty favorable, Avalanche may end up in 8th, with the Preds 6th and the Kings 7th. I think your Kings could make it to 6th though it really depends. Your only 2 points behind them with 2 games in hand. The Avs definetly have the least favorable schedule out of 5-8 seeds. Relax the Kings will be making the playoffs provided the Duck's dont rape you and Calgary doesnt get red hot. I think the team in the most danger is actually the Preds.

romwarrior 03-31-2010 01:45 AM

Re: NHL '09 - '10 Thread

Yeah, I'm not too worried about them missing the playoffs, but they have looked very out of sync the last few games. Their offense is MIA since the break. I think in the end the Kings will finish in 6th, but they play better against the Sharks than they do the Canucks or Hawks. In the regular season, at least. But in the end they need to be winning at the end of the season. They are not a veteran team that can just turn it up a notch. Tonight was a good start.

These last couple of weeks should be very exciting. -(P

Dare I say the Wings catch the Blackhawks and take back the Division lead in the last game of the season?

Probably not going to happen but a young man can hope :D

Scary win for the Wings last night. Almost blew it against Edmonton. 4-0 lead turned into a 4-4 tie very quickly. Stuart pulled out the game winner with about a minute left. Deslauriers had some crazy saves on some shots with the net wide open.

Bruins Picked up one of the two games in hand. They are now tied in points with Flyers and the Habs with 6 games remaining.
2 Against the Caps
1 ea Against the Sabers, Panters, Leafs and Canes

50/50 on the last 6 games But they are playing well, even in the loss to the sabers the other night

The Push is on

Lets go Bruins
