over the weekend I had a number of cigars that no one who knows me would believe I smoked. Taste testing a few cigars inbound to the troops, I had opportunity to taste Drew Estates Chateau Real Maduro as a Magnum 46. The JR liner notes say reminiscent of the way pre-embargo cuban cigars used to taste. WHEN? Last week? NOT a bad cigar, nowhere NEAR a havana cigar of any ear. Very stout on the first few puffs, then mellowing within 1/4 inch to become just another run of the mill CB blend with no complexity. Take this cigar out of the cello and sniff it, however, and you smell something like unto the deodorant of the Gods. Just phenomenal in appearance and unlit arome. Nice cigar, no breakthrough flavor, but you can taste the quality.

Over the weekend I had some crazy good smokes to include bot not limited to:

PAM
Opus X
Monte White
Tat Black

This was by far the best cigar weekend I have ever had. I enjoyed my birthday party (cigars, bourbon, and homemade wine), a rehersal dinner (more cigars, free booze) and the wedding reception (the best cigars, more free booze). What a great weekend! Without picking up the fantastic hobby of smoking cigars, this weekend would not have been nearly what it was. Thank you asylum!

Yesterday was a HdM day. Had a couple of Excaliber 1066s and finished off with a Dark Sumatra.

Perdomo Lot 826 Slow Aged Maduro Glorioso - nice smoke but I think I prefer the Natural.

too overpowering IMO. I have one that I'm saving for a very special occasion in the distant future to see if it mellows. been resting about 8 months so far.
