I just got a 35mm prime lens for my Nikon D5000 for Christmas. Wow......it is fun. Just starting to get the hang of it.

Thankis guys. For some reason, photobucket washes out the color. Maybe it is just for compression. Does anyone know if Flikr does the sa,e thing?

These great pictures are making me feel a bit creative. I guess for my next smoke I will have to bring the camera along as well!

The 1.8 works wonders! I used to love my 50mm f1.8 on my old rebel XT. I've always wanted something with a good macro focus and low f stop though...

I hear ya. The Macro lenses are super expensive. I can get by with using the extension tubes and a tripod on stationary subjects, otherwise forget it. It's real cheap this way as well, probably about $150.00 with 50mm lens and old manual extension tubes I picked up used.
