Gotta be loving Detroit not in the playoff picture this year... Sharks look the real deal this year... hopefully they don't have an early exit in the playoffs like last year.

Are you kidding? The 10th place team is 10 points out of a 5th seed. Let alone only 3 points to the 8th seed. Wings are 10 points out of the 3rd seed. 10 points is a great week and a half in the NHL :tu

Tonight is the night that the B's play to the potential thaty can play at.
I don't know if I am Reaching here but I am hoping for a turn around.
The last game against the kings at least showed some promise.

Actually it would be the 4th seed, Christos...the first 3 seeds go to the division winners.

And that's 3 wins for the Wings against the Sharks this year :) Possible first round matchup. Wings fought back from 2-0 to win, 4-2.

Dude pass those drugs around. 10 points would also imply all other teams dont play or implode. I can pretty much guarentee your scenario you just implied will not happen. Unless of course all the teams ahead of you only play eastern conference teams so no one has games agains each other and all the teams ahead of you call up their AHL rosters. Come on bro get real for a minute.
Dont forget the reason you got back into the playoff pic the other day was not because you won a game but the team ahead of you in the standings lost a game. Settle down its going to be a long season still.

Good win for the Wings. The Sharks lost all jump after the middle of the first. Their D which is still missing the number one D pairing got exposed badly. Horrible breakout passes. For most of the game the D couldnt complete a pass. So many of the sharks chances and rushes up the ice had to be created by the wingers and centers. My comment about being flat was perfectly displayed on the 4th goal when Huskins had the puck stolen from him on a breakout in his own zone which resulted in a goal. As for the first round matchup, it would be a good test for the Sharks to try to excise the Redwing demons they have. I hope they can if it occurs.

One thing that really impressed me about the wings was their presence infront of the net. On one shift in the second all three forwards spent time camped in front of the net. It was impressive. I hope the Sharks can solve the Wings by their next meeting on the 11th. That said the Sharks are a deeper and more skilled team then the Wings and I got to believe this year by adding Heatley and the grit of Nichol they will be able to make a deep run. Hopefully but you never know.

Maybe the Wings can trade him to the Flames and he can stay stuck at 15, MIke. ;)

I never said it was going to happen. Just playing Devil's advocate. As a fan of the game I always like to play the "what if" game. If the other teams start sliding and the Wings put a string of regulation wins together that could mean the difference in seeding. Considering the standings 10 points is not that much. And as of right now it's only 6 points to the 3rd seed.

So that would put us 9 points behind the 4th the seed after last nights loss to Aneheim. Not impossible to catch up, especially with the Mule coming back soon :)

What a stinker trade for the Thrashers....from what I understand, several other teams made what I consider better offers.

Being in 9th place I would think just getting to 6th by the end of the season would be a solid goal and possibe. Your odds of catching the Yotes or Kings in my opinion are pretty slim. They have been playing better hockey all year. They are healthy and I would take either of their goaltenders. 5th if one of them implodes and the wings get red hot. 4th I would be willing to place a bet on that not happening.

Just worry about the Wings possibly playing the Sharks ;) Although I realistically believe the Wings will be in the 6th seed.

Kovalchuk to the Devils, the East is over?
Time for the B's to blow it up and start over, and this means starting at the top with management. There are not move then 4 or five players worth keeping anyway.
What happens in the next few week will affect how the fan base reacts next season.

Hawks break their winless streak at 3 with a 2-1 victory over the Blues. Antti Niemi was awesome, and the Blues only goal came with a minute left and a 6 on 3 (goalie pulled on a two man advantage). Game had hits, great saves by both goalies, fights, and goals by Patrick Sharp and Johnny Toews.

Cool story....his brother still plays on my team. First game Craig played with us, he walks into the locker room and I am sitting in my sweats with my shirt off. Craig smiles at me, and says "I'm Craig...you must be the Enforcer". Team never lets me live it down.

Yeah, Craig wanted to play with his Brother a couple summers ago and played the summer season on our team. Of course, he couldn't play goalie, but he played defense and scored a few key goals. After signing the big pact with the Avs, he thought better of playing with us goons this past summer. :r
