Ken, get that lounge built!!!

The lounge will have to wait and won't be done till next winter but for now this has to do:

Definately helps when it's really cold out! Woudn't say it is always comfy and cozy but it certainly makes it a bit more tolerable!

For me, what's too cold is when you show up at a nice restaurant planning to meet your new squeeze only to find out that she dumped you when you discover that she ordered takeout in your name -- for one.

That's too cold.

It was dubbed whilst drunk, and the name stuck)

Humidity , wind , and all that other weather stuff play a big factor to me.

:tpd:

Two nights ago it was humid and about 40 degrees, windy and too cold to smoke. However last night it was clear, calm and 25 degrees and I got out on the deck and smoked and was fairly comfortable until near the end and then I kicked on my propane heater.

40+ or I go to the shop and fire up the oil burner.

Re: What's Too Cold

It's not the cold, it's the wind. I can handle the cold weather pretty well, but the wind is what drives me to smoke in the garage. :hm

I'm the biggest cold wussy in the world. I'll smoke a cigar while I'm shoveling snow if it's not too windy, but you're not going to find me sitting out in the cold smoking a cigar somewhere, period. Not gonna happen. :)

30's is too cold. 40's is OK if you are moving around (mid to high 40's at least). 50's is doable.

Re: What's Too Cold

Though I enjoy smoking outside, I prefer to only do it with my friends or if it is a beautiful and nearly windless day. Wind is key, I hate how it can ruin the burn of my cigar. Though if it's a nice and breezy, I'll chill outside with fine craft beer. Cheers!

move up here, you'd only smoke 3 months out of the year - during the day only. maybe 3 weeks at night.
what do you do if it's 68 degrees but there's a 5 MPH wind? oh, the horror!
:sl

it was -10 here this morning. that is, unfortunately, too cold...

I'll fire up the propane heater in the garage when it gets below 40. Otherwise it's bundle up, grab a cup of joe and my camping chair.

70 :D

I don't smoke much in the summer. I wish the weather was always 60.

Not in your garage it ain't! Especially if we pull over a large heater to stand under that just happens to be out on my back deck! :D

Re: What's Too Cold

A buddy and I have smoked outside in low 40's cause his girlfriend wont let us smoke indoors. At my place, we smoke inside in any weather and watch TV. But yeah, mid-40's is my lowest. 30's burns.

Re: What's Too Cold

If you're bundled up enough, it shouldn't be too cold. After my hands got cold from no gloves when it was in the 40's here, I bought a pair. Unfortunately, the weather has been in he 60's since then. If it drops down again, I'll get them out.

75. I'd rather smoke outside at 35 than 75.

Re: What's Too Cold

I've got my stripes for smoking in the cold. Last winter when we had that horrendous storm after Christmas I was on the front porch with a buddy and his son in a blizzard, huddled around one of those little steel fire pits.

We smoked lots of pepin and fuente and polished off almost two full bottles of whiskey (Elijah Craig 18 and I think a Talisker 12.)

Our shoulders and backs were encased in snow and ice by the time we were done.

But we were THANKful! (and bloody pissed.)

Anything below 60 and I'm freezing! That thick NJ blood I used to have is long gone. Luckily it rarely gets too cold here :)

If it is below 60 and I have a fire in the fire pit that is fine. Other than that I am in the man cave!

I have a garage with a space heater so anything below 60 outside and I'm in the garage.

It's 41 outside and I am sitting in my garage (doors open -- for air flow) with the heater on and enjoying a cigar :D

-38 wind chill on the ski lift today.
i think it's safe to say that was officially too cold for a cigar.

Going to man up and go out for a short smoke in 7F weather today. Hoping the wind died down a bit.

Lowest has been around 46* on the patio, but usually out there with a sweatshirt and light jacket over that and a cover on my head. A cup of coffee usually completes the attire:tu

Under 45* in Texas just isn't preferred but sometimes you just need to enjoy a good stick...

I have a smoke room in my house, so if I get cold while wearing a jacket I go inside. However, if I'm going to be doing something outside anyway I might as well light up and enjoy it.
