Thanks Peter and Jamie for remembering this oldtimer.
Been lurking, not posting, busy bidding, smoking plenty.
Add Oliva MB3 to my list of reliables.

My tastes are always evolving, so that's a tough question to answer. Often find what I thought was a fallback isn't as enjoyable anymore. Then I smoke a cheap-ass Fuente Curly Head Maduro that tastes great. Rather than looking back, I really enjoy moving forward.

I always seem to come back to the Indian Tabac Super Fuerte. Great golf smoke, and CI has great deals on them fairly often.

These are plentiful enough to be considered a fall back cigar? I guess by fallback, I look at it as the daily smoker that you know will not let you down. Unless the OP just mean the later part of my last sentence. :sh

Re: Your fallback cigar

The problem with being a noob is reading threads like this one.

As soon as you think you've got a fallback, all these other types of great sticks pop up, you trade, buy and are gifted them, find some new gems then the old fallbacks fall the hell off, lol!:D

601 Black. If it was the only cigar I could ever smoke I'd be happy. Other than that any Padron will deliver or the Fuente r52.

Re: Your fallback cigar

Lately I've been craving some of the first cigars from when I started smoking 20 years ago. One of the first boxes I had bought then was some AF Cuban Coronas. I remember being mad when they broke 24 bucks with shipping. Now about a C-note. Still yummy after all these years. I love these for a walk down memory lane.
These days when I need to rush out of the house I reach for an El Triunfador #4. Not really a fall back, but I know it will be great and won't make me smell a restroom at NY Port Authority.

A real fallback for me is a Te-Amo robusto. Oh that barnyard stink. Not allowed to smoke it in the truck if the bride is with me.-(P

For the last few months it's been either a Graycliff G2 (any vitola, but torps are my favorite) or an El Baton double toro 6 x 60. Both are always great.

Re: Your fallback cigar

The cigar that I rely on every single time would be an Oliva 'O' robusto. Starts mild, develops a smooth transition to medium/full body with creamy textures and tones ranging from soily woods to some light sweetness. I think it is a beautiful cigar for a very good price point.

Re: Your fallback cigar

I would have to say mine is a Cuban Montecristo No. 2. Just cant go wrong with it, classic smoke and they only get better with age.
